New fic is released: "Aunt Millie"!

So, this episode gave me a wonderful moment. Precisely, two moments.
My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is famous for having interesting stuff going on in the background, but rarely it happens that one of your favourite background ponies gets to shine in an episode, with two moments that allow a little insight into his or her life and personality.
For Dinky, this happened with the latest episode.
After Fluttershy said that she is peeved about her brother, we see Dinky with a mare who swiftly covers her ears upon hearing this harmless statement. Then a minute later, something similar happens when Rainbow Dash talks about it that Fluttershy is peeved, and Dinky gets pushed forward by this mare.
Both times said mare is clearly upset about Dinky hearing such normal angry reactions. We get so much to read out from these little moments:

There's a mare who patronizes Dinky heavily and does nothing else but mollycoddling her, presumably her aunt, but may very well also any other female relative, except for her mom or her grandmother, or maybe even her babysitter (but I'm going with aunt, cause she is clearly emanating such a strong "The annoying aunt no one likes" vibe).
And Dinky just hates to be treated that way. She knows that stating to be peeved isn't filthy language and is really annoyed by her aunt's behavior and that she patronizes her so much.
She really wants to be treated maturely and with respect, but her aunt just doesn't care about that and keeps patronizing her to the worst.
And Dinky's expression shows that it's really wearing at her:

All of this insight from such little moments..... And it really makes me happy! I hope for the longest time already that Dinky gets a speaking role in the show, it's more than two years now, and even though she didn't now either, I love it so much how we finally got to see an aspect of her life!
I'm so happy about it that I knew I had to write a fic about her and her complicated aunt. And so, the idea for "Aunt Millie" was born!
Yesterday, I sat down and mapped out the fic and started writing it and today I gave the first chapter the necessary polish and kicked it off!
It will be a journey of nine or ten chapters and there will be full insight into this mare called "Millie" and why she is such a problem for Dinky!
Furthermore, there will be a certain underrepresented and underrated background filly playing a big role in the fic!
This filly might even give the story two or three more chapters than I currently think it will have, but this remains in the dark for now.

Finally, I tried out something entirely new with this fic too. I'm for the longest time already peeved about it (See what I did there?) that certain ponies just don't get character tags no matter how much time passes after their introduction.
Lily Longsocks is one of those ponies who really deserves a tag for the huge potential she carries for fics with her mysterious super strength and her not much less mysterious hedgehog cutie mark.
Receiving such a tag might also get her more attention among fic writers, but sadly, the staff seems to refuse to add a tag for her.
Which also applies to quite many new ponies, like Coloratura and Flurry Heart, just to name two examples.
And since the staff doesn't seem to add new tags anytime soon, I was starting to solve this problem by myself when I released "Princess Flurry Heart, Destroyer of Worlds!".
I made own character tags for her and Sunburst and implemented them in the description of the fic, but unfortunately, it turned out that the staff here has turned off the function of implementing pictures in fic descriptions.
I was gnawing away at that for a while until the solution for this problem dawned upon me yesterday:

While it isn't possible anymore to include pictures in descriptions, they can still be included in chapters!

So that's what I did. I made two other new tags for Millie and Lily Longsocks and put all the necessary character tags on top of the first chapter!
I was a little sceptical about how this is going to come across before the actual chapter, but with the title of the fic and the chapter title added it looks quite nice! I will also go and do the same with my fic for Flurry Heart and continue doing so every time I write a fic I need character tags for that don't exist.
All the tags I create are up for grabs too, so if you need them for your fic to implement them in similar ways, feel free to download and use them, that's what they're made for!
And speaking about Flurry Heart..... I will continue her fic as well. I don't want to abandon her for this new fic, so I will continue both fics simultaneously. Chapter 3 is already written and only needs polishing to be released to the masses.
I still need to work out the specifics, but I'm aiming for a weekly release of new chapters for both fics! I will write another blog entry when I'm able to name specific update days.
