'Kay, how about some kind of update?

For those of you wondering just what the hell I'm doing and why am I not releasing an update to Cooking Floor yet, I've got a wide spread of news that oscillates between good and bad.

Near the good side, we have good news. Next chapter is in the works. That's for definite. The thread of the story is laid out and all it needs is writing.

    An introduction of sorts

I suppose I should make use of this facility even though my experience with blogs is slim. I'm very much a secluded private type of person, although if you know me personally you will know that is a lie and I talk your ear off half of the time. Even so, I am wary of people I do not know, or the potential of people I do not know to know things that I know.

I suppose I should make use of this facility even though my experience with blogs is slim. I'm very much a secluded private type of person, although if you know me personally you will know that is a lie and I talk your ear off half of the time. Even so, I am wary of people I do not know, or the potential of people I do not know to know things that I know.

Self-therapy aside, lettuce (I do enjoy that pun) begin the general grounds for this blog. I am a brony, of adult age, yet to get a job but sufficiently academically versed in the Queen's English. I tend to think of myself as experienced in the realms of the english language; I was the one who practically made no spelling mistakes at all when kids were still struggling over the 'i before e' concept (I never had that problem because I had never even heard of it). That said, I do not deny that I have a habit of tripping over grammar and correct sentence structure. As such, if you find what I write hard to follow, don't be afraid. Often when I proofread my work, I will struggle to follow it as well.

As I wish to become a novel writer (novel meaning fiction, the world would come to a swift end if I was ever considered novel in the other sense), fanfiction has always been a place I intend to begin my craft so to speak. Many years ago I tried my hand at fantasy stories but found them lacking and without structure. Fanfiction, therefore, will at least give me the building blocks of existing intellectual property that I can shamelessly deface and distort in the interests of literal art.

Being an ideas man, I already have pony fanfic ideas formulating in my head and on a notepad. One is a simple game crossover that I think works quite cleverly, and the other is a more puzzle themed adventure that is semi random for even the pony universe.

You're already excited, aren't you? I can tell. Unfortunately you're going to have to surpress that excitement, because here's another problem you will most likely have with me. I am lazy. Well, lazy may be the wrong word. Unmotivated is a more correct choice. Tasks in my life take the form of a jumbled box with me occassionally dipping my hand into it whilst I juggle main tasks at the same time. As such, what I do today may fall out of favour in the next month or so. This week I will be grinding hard on Team Fortress 2, the next week I will be glued to Bejeweled 3 with not so much as a thought of hats passing through my mind. The same works with stories I write; I will be happily plowing through the first fic one day, struggle to rewrite it the next, take a week break not thinking about it, then work on the second fic, struggle with that, then rinse and repeat. Point is, updates will be inconsistant and most likely crap. Just warning you here about that.

Nevertheless, I technically have a head start (if you call starting several months ago and only now writing this a head start). Chapter one of the first fic is very much down pat I like to think. Once I work out the kinks, smooth over the plot and know where I'm actually going with it, I will publish it. It will be my main focus until completed, at which I will go for the second fic. So be patient, sip your tea, and enjoy what I hope will be an interesting read from a budding author.
