Chapter 44: A Storm on the Horizon · 5:14pm May 16th, 2016
The next chapter has now been handed over to my pre-reader and editor for their tender caresses.
As I might have mentioned to them, my inner critic needs to be taken outside and have matters explained to it - with a baseball bat.
Every time I read through the chapter I kept wanting to change things. It got a little demoralizing to be honest.
Now I am NOT going to say that was the only reason for how long it took. I freely admit to procrastination on my part. But lets say it certainly didn't help.
Dude, I'm just happy to get more Denuo Fortuna. Besides, professional novelists have had the same internal-editor problem. Remember, identifying the problem is the first step toward addressing it.
IMHO having that kind of attitude towards your own work is a sign of a professional novelist. =P

Which is why the author of ' To Kill A Mockingbird' didn't publish anything for decades, people assumed the first book was a gift from Truman Capote, and when the sequel was finally discovered (post Alzheimer's) it had to go through more legal red tape than the confederacy of idiots. Not to mention, people assumed it was published posthumously shortly (in the grand scheme of things) before the author actually died.
