Next Chapter soon.

The next chapter, Deterrent - Part 1, has now been submitted to my editor... for the second time. He (quite rightly) pointed out something the first time, something that was basically 'well that's all a little too convenient', so off I went to sort that out.

Anyway, sorry for such the long wait for the new chapter. Lots of things I could point my finger at - I was ill at the beginning of the year, (nothing serious); my new work hours meaning that my free time during the week (especially to write) has been greatly reduced; that I'm trying to keep the laptop out of my bedroom (I used to do quite a bit before bed,) as it was starting to mess with my sleep pattern; that the wardrobe door in my bedroom broke and fell off (don't ask). It's a minor thing but it does annoy me, waaaay more than it should I admit.

But honestly, the biggest culprit was that my motivation had flagged. Looking at the same chapter for months on end, trying to wrestle it into something you like can do that to a person. I even halved the length of it so there was less I had to sort out (hence the 'part 1') and it's still ~7.8k words.

I really gotta learn when to step away and say 'f*ck it, that's good enough. It's time to move on'.

So with a fair wind, I intend to publish it within the next week.
