TaviTurnip

I'm just a writer. And stuff. I'll write a more interesting bio if people ask c: I do art as well and I like it when people visit my deviantART for just this purpose.

Just for anyone who really likes these stories...

... Sorry that I haven't written anything in goodness knows how long :ajsleepy: It's sort of a double-edged sword, really. Basically for me, despite having hundreds of functional ideas, my actual inspiration in life is normally expressed through visual art and not writing. Writing is... I'm one of those people who writes to escape thinking about other things, basically. It's my way of sort

    Should I "sell out"?

I'm considering being a naughty little turnip and garnering some attention the easy peasy way. You know, the way that will get all sorts of eyes to come my way that will forever look forward to more of my work in the future.

I of course refer to... a random one-shot story with a humorous hook.

    I've come to realize

Slice of life is about the only thing I can write properly that does not involve complete devotion of the heart.

I guess this is okay, but nobody's ever going to hail me as a master writer if all I do is little everyday things, ahaha... The most epic or gripping of tales do not center around the everyday life of Ponies, after all.

    Oh well~

Something I love about this site

The Featured panel/slider/noun, is so awesome. The sheer number of stories I've seen up there that I enjoyed the life out of is in the dozens. Out of over 1,800,000 words, there was only one story I read that I downvoted, I think... and one other story I simply chose not to vote on at all. The other large bunch were all really good, and if it wasn't for the Featured thing, I'm pretty sure

How come when I feel like I write something large and fulfilling, it ends up having such a small word count? ;_; You're so mean to me, writing D: *sobs profusely*

I think a slice of life story can be just as good as a story of any other genre.

329605 Not to be picky about such a thing as word choice, but while I can agree that they can be just as good, I don't know if they can be just as great, if you can understand how I mean it. In most cases, I think there's a lack of something there that can really be moving to a reader. It can be just as funny or just as cute as anything else is, of course, but you probably have to introduce some new element for it to be able to really become something greater or more powerful.

I'm doing a really bad job of explaining what it is I mean here, but I swear it makes more sense in my head :applecry:

330832 I think slice of life can be of the same quality on any level as, say, adventure. Maybe that's just me, though.

And by the way, what you said made perfect sence to me. So don't worry about it.
