New Writing Ventures - Animation project "Icarus" · 9:12am May 1st, 2016
Hey there everypony. Don't worry, I didn't forget any of you.
So I'm writing a blog here sooner (or maybe later?) than I was expecting. This time, however, I wanted to put something that's a bit less vent-y and much more productive, as I'm long overdue to deliver some good news.
Real life's taken some rather interesting turns as of late, and I've now gotten myself into exploring other mediums to write in. After writing and having plays performed 2 years in a row by my college's drama club, I've decided to continue exploring new methods to honing my writing skills. After a friend and fellow writer once told me, it's best to branch off my one massive project, get experience, and come back to it with a new perspective. So far, his advice has been helping me out a lot, and now I'm about to start a brand new project.
The medium? Animation.
The genre? Comedy. (*gasp*)
The premise? Three thieves (original pony characters) break into a rich guy's vault/castle/building-of-some-kind to steal a valuable treasure while trading some witty banter and avoiding traps and alarms.
Who's involved?
-Animator: Crowne Prince
-Musician: PegasYs
I also have 1 other writer on the team, 3 potential actors, and hopefully 2 other writers to bring onto the team, but I won't announce their involvement just yet.
The catch? The production won't be free.
This is where you guys can come in.
In order to accrue some money for the production costs, I've set up a GoFundMe page where I'm accepting donations. All funds donated to the cause are going directly into the project.
Wanna help?
Come visit this Link at my GoFundMe Campaign page!
Anybody who's willing to donate is not only helping me fund my first-ever animation project, but they're also helping a writer get back up on his feet and better his skills. I really want to bring this animation to life, reach a milestone toward my dream, and I want to come back at Price of Loyalty a much better, smarter, and focused writer. You will have my eternal gratitude as well, if you can donate to the cause.
That said, it's 5AM in the morning and I really ought to get some sleep for my new job. (I work at GameStop now. Who'd a-thunk?) But thank you guys for reading and all your support these past couple years. Not to mention your patience from you Price of Loyalty fans still waiting on me to get around to writing Journal 4! If it's any consolation, I'm re-evaluating my plot and themes, so maybe my enthusiasm to write it again will come sooner than you guys think.
Here's to the future, and thanks again.
