A new story appears!
As Gunsmoke draws to a close and my body starts to convulse with the inevitable lack of Shimmer-Fix, my mind couldn't help but kickstart my fingers into writing this new series.
Young Amazons stars our favorite bacon head in the world of The Batman, so younger Bats, just starting his career, etc. Obviously I'm meshing things a little bit and will include characters from the greater DC Universe into a loosely adapted headcanon-ish world with as many characters as needed, including some Vertigo guests.
I like the character arc I'm going to be putting Sunset through on this one, and it's very different than Gunsmoke's character arc. I think the possibilities to explore with a dimensional shift are awesome to contemplate and develop. As for the characters involved... two are pretty obvious, given that their names are plastered on the description, the third I will reveal when the time comes, provided people don't figure it out.
While yes, I know crossovers with Batman are nothing new here, I haven't seen one with Sunset in this particular situation, and I assure you this is not going to be one of those Marvel or DC crossovers where they "have so much more power than everypony else and they are so much more cooler than ponies who only serve the purpose of aggrandizing their coolness!" And it also won't be a "Sunset has all da Powah!".
If you've read my non-comedy fics, you know I try to balance that stuff out.
Anyway. This new story will have several arcs and plenty of character development, so I hope you guys not only give it a chance, but more importantly, that you enjoy it!

I don't much like Batman, but I have, in the past, enjoyed those around him…
I'm completely burned out on caring about anything DC-related, but this technically isn't DC…

Interesting. I forget sometimes that magic exists in the common DC universe, a la Zatana. It'll be fun to see how Sunset copes. Also interesting choice of tossing Ivy into the mix, though I admit I'm not familiar with her "The Batman" incarnation's quirks and story.

3850852 I'd say 90% of his fics have the format of "Character X arrives in Equestria, Character X is a lot stronger than anything in Equestria, Character X beats up Sombra fairly easily, Character X is actually challenged by a character from his original universe but overcomes, hint at a crossover between many of his fics that will take a 1 000 000 more words of set up before it actually happens." On the bright side though, he writes very fast, has minimal typos, and is likely your only way to read a Complete 100k word long crossover between Character X and MLP. And I like his depiction of Sombra(it's always Sombra).
3850871 Ah well, my own take on crossovers has never been to fling characters and make them ultramorepowerfulthananyoneelse. It just... kills it for me. I think balance is better. Sure, a character can be very powerful, but having the ponies be useless and complete underdogs with no chance save for the hero dragging their asses out of the fire? Nope.
youre poking some vertigo in here? Do I hear the Endless or at least Cain and Able? I think I would have to just pay attention to the story. Luckily you're not bad at foreshadowing. I've been reading something by Bucking nonsense that wasn't all that good with foreshadowing, he did put in a twist that was unexpected, but overall it was not as good as it could have been.
I am only half turned onto this, since i have no clue how long you're going to be writing this or if it will leave me hanging and waiting for it to continue or finish. then again it would be par for the course I have plenty of stories I've read that are just unfinished and I am not sure if they will ever finish. put that right next to some that I am just not going to finish reading for one reason or another.
maybe it'll get picked up, I didn't really get into The Batman as much mainly because i am a Batman the Animated Series child.
I can sense a disturbance in the force... or certain excitement when writing action and adventure.
I have already read the first chapter of your new story and sounds quite appealing and promising. It's no substitute for Gunsmoke, I feel it will be equally enjoyable.

3851003 I understand your feelings about unfinished stories ~_~ all too well. But, to answer your other question, Vertigo characters will make appearances but they're not intended to be major players/direct influences on Sunset.

3853457 It's difficult to say if you have, since I'm not familiar with the series, but if exceptional unicorns and Alicorns can match the power, I think it's more balanced than some stories I've seen out there where no matter the pony, they stood no chance.
Pretty sure that reference to other DC and Marvel crossovers was about a specific author. Pretty sure I know who. And yeah, it would be great if that person could to e it down a bit. I get that basically any superhero is on another level compared to the ponies, but I'm trying to enjoy one of those stories and it gets a bit much when freaking everyone feels the need to talk about Wonder Woman's is super intimidating but also compassionate and damn is she ever strong like woah. It really weakens the character interaction that needs to be carrying the story, since Wonder Woman has utterly curbstomped everything that has thus far been stupid enough to fight her.
That and if I was just after wank about how awesome a particular superhero is, I'd just find some fanboys and ask for an example of that character being awesome to pirate.
If it's in the world of The Batman can it please be seasons 1 & 2 in the timeline please? Those are the best seasons. Or at least not including seasons 4 or 5, since the show went downhill with 4, and 5 was just awful?

What do you mean by "regular DC?" In that this is the animated universe with the Batman and Superman cartoons? Also, does Sunset have any of her magic, or anything that stands in for super powers? Not sure why you would send her to that universe then.
