    Something in the works? Maybe?

A thestral, a siren, a zebra, a dragon, a changeling, a kirin, three unicorns, three pegasi, three earth ponies, and three alicorns all walk into a bar.

They then get kicked out because that's way too many characters with "primary/secondary protagonist" billing for one story.

    Follow-Up Clarification

    Vagueposting aside, here's what's up:

I'm not going to worry about all my stories at once, that way leads disaster as has been proven time and again already. Still want to try to do something with Of Responsibility, The Atlantis Scenario, Contrast, etc; but not yet.

    [Snippet] The Ponyville Numbers Station

Sunset Shimmer set about unpacking her things. Though still reluctant toward the idea of staying in Ponyville long-term, she was at least going to make sure she was comfortable here during her visit. After a solid couple hours of work, the previously-bland master bedroom had been transformed into something far more cozy. The bed was made, her spellbooks and theory texts placed snugly on a

My jaw is on the floor.

No, seriously.

I've spent the last few days even more sleep-deprived than usual, as I've been getting really involved in a non-MLP related project, and other than a few halting stabs at progress in Of Responsibility, I haven't really had ponies on the mind much. But then yesterday, during a lull in which my partners for this project were both offline, I randomly opened a new Word document and started typing. And somehow this came out.

Maybe I was subconsciously inspired by a throwaway joke in The Many Secret Origins Of Scootaloo, maybe this came from a desire to see some good old-fashioned pre-season-2 NMM fic, or maybe it's from somewhere else, but in the end, I'm still not sure what's even going on there. It is a nice break from trying to forcibly jam my feet into Chrysalis's undersized, nonexistent horseshoes, though.

But what's surprised me even more than the fic itself has been the reaction. I go off to try to get some actual sleep, and I come back to 16 comments, (though four of those are me replying to people) 38 likes, 345 views, and 30 favorites. I tried, I really tried, to thank each and every one of you personally, but after spending fifteen minutes on a quarter of the list, I realized that A: This was going to take forever, and B: My thanks would all start to sound the same after a while. So for those of you whom I did not get the chance to thank, I'm doing it here now. Thank you. Sincerely. Not just because your favorites would make other people more inclined to read a story that's gotten that much love, but because you enjoyed my weird sleep-deprived narrative enough to add it to the list of stories you like. :) That really means a lot to me.

And some people have commented too. A few have been confused, and for that I am sorry. I'm confused too, man, I know your pain. Others have put out their theories regarding what exactly is going on, which all sound great! And I know at least one person has asked for a continuation, which I'm sorry to say, but I'm pretty sure that won't happen. I seem to have hit inspiration's end for now, and if I try to force it, I'll only end up with something sub-par. If it does continue, it'll likely be as unpredictable and spontaneous as this first part was.

This reminds me of another thing: Of Responsibility. The issue there is slightly different, as I have no end of ideas, I just have to get to the point where they'll actually be implemented. I've gotten myself stuck in a rather slow scene involving Chrysalis stuck in a room, and while I've mapped out what she's going to do for the next few hours, I really just want to get on to the scene this is building towards. However, for the sake of narrative flow and Chekhov's Gun, I'm forcing myself to go through those hours with Chrysalis, and despite the fact that she's being pretty active in trying to leave, It's started to get a bit tedious for me. Part of me is thinking I should take a break and come back to it fresh, but another part is afraid that if I wait too long, I'll lose interest and leave you all hanging, which is kinda how Destiny Is Magic died.

So I don't know; I'll just keep grinding away at it.

And in other news, today we took a trip to the doctor's for a check-up.
I had two vaccination shots and some blood drawn.
Needles are to me as snakes are to Indiana Jones.
FFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU...

And if you actually read all this, you get a free internet.
