Seeing as my story will be fairly long, hence why its taking so long, I decided to tide folks over with some of the creatures I made up. Whether they show up in my story or not it debatable. I don't know yet. But for now, heres my first batch: Seaponies of an alternate land!
Alternate world Seapony: Unicorn
This lovely mare is a unicorn class of seapony. Her kind most reside close to the surface, using their magic to control the waves on the surface as well as bring about mist when needed. Their magic is much more limited than surface unicorns. Plus their 'horn' is very delicate. They mostly act as sentries for the ocean, being the ones to notice first when anything is going wrong, such as sailors or fishers. Their job is to make sure no surface ponies harm the life that call the sea home. When fighting against sailors, theses bewitching mares will use their magic to blind sailors with mist, bombard their ship with violent waves or lead them into dangerous waters with the light of her horn.
Alternate world Seapony: Pegasus
This pretty mare, give her whatever name you want, is a pegasus seapony. Now, despite how she looks, she can't really fly. Her' wings are flimsy and delicate and they can be easily torn. Like Pegasi on the surface, this race uses her wings and inherent magic in the mid sea area. well below the surface but no where near the sea floor. She uses her magic to create and guide under sea currents to ensure safe passage for certain animals, circulate fresh and salt water as well as create borders between dangerous areas and helpless animals. Also, since her race tends to get into conflict with sailors, her wings can be used to briefly allow her to glide above the water and drag unsuspecting ponies to their watery death... Yep, sweet heart, ain't she?
Alternate world Seapony: Earth pony (Weird, I know)
This sweet looking mare is a earth type seapony. Her kind mostly reside on the ocean floor, caring for the aquatic life such as fish and plants. Rarely are they seen on the surface unless they are residing in shallow waters. The are very strong, like surface ponies, but are the most easily caught for some reason. Her strength is used to crush stone and create undersea caverns to create more space for life to continue. Also, unlike her other sisters, they have night vision, since they reside in the dark depths of the ocean for a long time. When going up against sailors, these mares are the ones punching holes in the hull and rocking the ship to capsize it.
i would think the Angler one would also do well in the dark...since they have the giant torch on their head
i wonder what their alicorn variant would be?

3843133 Yeah, i thought of that too but the earth seapony would be useless on the upper levels to be honest. Also, I've never thought of a alicorn variant. That would be cool and if anything, that would be their ruler. I might draw something like that later.
Are the jagged stuff all the way down the earth seapony part of her mane?

3843320 No, It's her fins. I made her fins kind of like a betafish but it might be unclear with this scan. Her mane is green while the fins run down her back to her sides.
3843367 I might make an alicorn but I want her to look the part. She'd be the queen so she must look regal.
