    Author update!

I'm editing stuff! But also incredibly dried out of writing power atm. I'll get going again soon, but just bear with me for a bit. I'm publishing a chapter of XCOM today, then start on the daily writing (not publishing) again tomorrow morning. In the meantime, always remember:

    Remembering Koji Wada

Like every year, I like to remember the man/legend responsible for the theme songs of one of my favorite shows of all time on the anniversary of his death.

So if you were wondering about the timing for the latest Isekai chapters? There you go.

    Welp, here's a life update

These last couple of weeks have been a bit of a rollercoaster. Good things have happened, and also bad ones. No wonder I could relate to both Furina and Navia in the latest Isekai chapter. Sometimes pretending things are fine is really exhausting, even if they do get better.

    Welp, another year older and...

...still writing ponies. (Among other things, granted.)

Update to the Isekai coming tonight! And some additional details and change of plans.

First, to everyone waiting patiently for the next Isekai chapter, I apologize for the delay. I know there are a lot of people that want to see another visit to Hell happen soon, and it will, I promise. However, due to some circumstances, I decided for a different pair of visitors to visit the bar this week.

So, a question for my readers... · 2:01am Mar 22nd, 2016

...whenever you think of Wanderer D, what do you think of me as being a genre-writer predominantly of? Do you think, "Wanderer D writes mostly comedy"? Or, "Wanderer D writes mostly Dark?" or something different?

What genre/category do you relate me the most with?

I think "Wanderer D writes cool stuff that I like."

I usually think Slice of Life, or Sad. I'm not really sure why. Maybe Dark, too.

The D writes blogs.

D writes about changelings.

Honestly? "Wanderer D writes those funny, snarky, insightful blog posts." :derpytongue2:

Hrm. Honestly, I don't think about genres much at all. I guess if anything, I think of you as a Long Format writer?

I hope you don't feel too insulted if I say: 'That dude that wrote the Three Sisters' series. :twilightsheepish:

Again, no offence meant, but it's 'just' the series of your stories that's resonated the most with me.

Wanderer D tastes funny, and writes a sweet Rarity.

Like Changeling.

Sadly enough, you're Admin D to me, then changeling sisters.

ok first I look at every author as there own story teller I try really hard to not compare them against each other.
ok that being said I will be hones I only read one of your story's (The Pain of Eternity) I can say that this story is dark if you want it to be and full of pane if you want it to be I think it is a slice of life.
if we the reader just stop and think about what Twilight is feeling in this story and how we the reader would feel in her horse shoes.?
I found this story as I was reading a 5 score story and the author was trying to get this vary feeling across to the reader.

I think you are a vary good righter with a ton of talent.
I think if you ever find a really super good story line you are going to go places it is just a matter of time.
Harts Fire.

Correction: doesn't write enough about changelings.

I know you mostly from your blog posts, actually. I followed you because I thought those were interesting. I have a huge "Read Later" list, on this site, and fanfiction.net, so I haven't been able to get around to looking at your writing.

I tend to think of you as usually writing dark stuff with comedic elements.

I don't think about the genre specifically, but I think of you as a writer of complex and sometimes thought-provoking fiction.

Nothing.

You seem to write whatever the hell you want, regardless of what genre it is. AKA I'm shit at figuring that stuff.

~Skeeter The Lurker

Adventure. The Empty Room, Three Sisters, and Fragments are the stories that come to mind when I think of Wanderer D.

Dick answer: human/adventure

But really to me you're a comedic dark/adventure, but you need more -->:unsuresweetie: Alright?

Hmm. Looks like I'm mostly into your Dark Adventure.

3819772 Steel Resolve is the guy that sailed that one good Flarity ship.

You do Dark with a side of comedy and the Three Sisters is pure comedy

Wanderer D writes mostly Blogs :)

I think of Wanderer D as that admin who has some awesome stories I love to read.

No, I'm serious, that's really my entire filing tag in my memory.

3819809 Heh. We're here to talk about the D, though.

3819776 Same. I think of you as an epic writer. (The story format, not the adjective, but the latter is also true!)

3819825 I've always thought of D as the king of blending genres. Fragments is probably his most ambitious project in that regard.

Easy Reads : meaning I can read your stories with out becoming lost or requiring several re-reads.

wander D the guy who writes blog post, my memory is too short to remeber anything other then the blog post

Hell I like most of your stories. Fav' ed more then one.

The line "Take that, Sethisto!" from Wanderer_D In Equestria has stayed with me for four years or so now.

When I think of Wanderer D, only one thing comes to mind:

I couldn't resist :rainbowkiss:

Came here just to post this, and someone beat me to it.

I don't think of any genre. Just one word comes to mind. Epic. :moustache: For example, not much could be more epic in scope, content, and ambition than TSC.

I think of you as "the only individual that Midnight Dancer mentions more often than Best Child." And "The fellow Mexican site mod."

Other than that: "The Three Sisters" saga. And your other changeling stories.

A guy who writes blog posts, and even cooler stories.

"Wanderer D writes predominantly unorthodox stories."

So you can be whatever we want you to be? :trollestia:

3819935 I was SO thinking this, and then I scrolled down. Thank you.

I'm primarily a visual thinker, so when I think of Wanderer D, I first think of your stupid-awesome icon. Where my brain jumps to from there varies wildly depending on my mood, the time of day, and several other more esoteric variables. After seeing this, I thought of Three Sisters, even though I saw the email for the Gunsmoke update like ten minutes ago.

Mostly I think (putting aside the blog posts) about Adventure (with capital A) and about juggling wildly different themes and elements in a way that still makes sense.

I'd say adventure or slice of life.

That's a good question - however, I myself see you as genre independent.
I see a story written by you, it grabs my interest. Unless it's in genres I specifically prefer to avoid, I'll give it a go!

He's the guy who posts some stuff sometimes and is apparently a site mod. I guess he writes stuff sometimes, too, but I couldn't name any names. I think he reviews some stuff. And that one time he knocked me out of the SlamJam and went on to win the whole thing, because he and Obs are obviously working together to rule fimfiction from within with an iron fist/wingy thing.

TL;DR: WandererD is a strong, independent Pokemon, and don't need no genres constrainin' his muse.

EDIT-- After checking the freaking four pages of stories you've apparently written and I apparently just haven't gotten around to reading yet, I have to conclude that your native genre is "Incomplete since 2013."

"Wander D writes stories that range from the novel to the enjoyably surreal."

definitely weird comedy

I like comedy. It's the funny (to me) parts that I remember best.
That being said, your stories are quite varied, so it's hard to say if there even is one defining genre for you.

Changelings.

Honestly, without looking, I think of you as writing drama and comedy.

Doesn't mean I'm right, though. :V

I dont think I can put you in a specific box since you do a little bit off everything.

Counter question, what genre would you like to associated with?

Bear in mind this is the HARD goal, D. Being followed by thousands and thousands based sheerly on your writerly mojo is the hard goal, and on the whole that's not how it works, for anybody, in any artistic field.

Being a decent fellow who likes to help others and a capable guy with connections to other people, is what gets you the snowball effect of popularity-because-popularity. You know quite well that's part of your equation, and you wouldn't want to be a lesser person just to 'defuse' that part of the popularity bomb.

You might ask the also very decent and nice RobCakeran what it's like to be flooded with attention on the grounds of specifically your writing, because there are some real gotchas to that: turns out when you win big that way, people won't want your other writing, they'll want that writing AGAIN. And again. Which is fine, but definitely dulls the sparkle of 'they love my art! It's the art maaaan!'

My experience with you hasn't been as a reader, it's been through doing things like running an Advanced Writing panel with you and learning how you handled the expectations of being a panelist, and how well you delivered, and how adaptable and sensible you were in that situation. So I've got a very high opinion of you, sir, yet it has not so much to do with your known ability to perform on the page, and more to do with your quality off it.

Perhaps not the reply you'd have wished, but all the same I think that counts for something :ajsmug:

Wanderer D writes... epics.
They're just enough of anything and everything to make it work.
