I don't think it comes as any surprise that Fluttershy is my favorite pony, if my avatar and my extensive collection of fluttershy related merchandise irl are anything to go by, so you can imagine that nothing pisses me off more when my favorite pony is written incorrectly.
Yes, Fluttershy is the element of kindness. However, she does not bleed it onto any poor slag who happens to need it at the time. Fluttershy is more than a walking shoulder to cry on, she's more than the trophy wife every gary stu needs.
I absolutely despise it when I see Fluttershy used as a compassionate character when it comes to society outcasts, people in need, or whatever have you. Yes she would feel sorry for you, yes she may try to console you, but she would not enjoy it if you cling to her like a lost, abused puppy. Even she has her limits, which we saw tested when she watched after the CMC.
She is a character, with her own personality, struggles, and wants and desires. She is not a walking kissing booth, she is not a walking shoulder to cry on (except for her friends, maybe), and she is not a fucking prize for every bad OC to inevitably earn.
*siiiiiigggghhhhhh*
Alright. End rant.
But my OC, James (who is totally not me IRL), is perfect for Fluttershy! She saved him from the Everfree when he appeared there, and he gives her backrubs! It's a match made in heaven!
