My original idea was to write a story, featuring my OC Ayn Wye (based loosely on my ponysona) as the protagonist. Sauer Kraut’s story was actually supposed to be just a short summary within the first chapter. Two weeks and 14k words later I had to admit: she had become the protagonist of her own story 
After some brainstorming with my proofreaders/advisors/whateveryouwannacallthem, especially with Recon777, I knew:
I want to turn this into its own stand alone fiction!
However, one does not simply take a chapter from a fiction and publish it as a new thing. So, while I have a completely written out draft of Sauer’s entire story in my google drive, I have to completely re-write it from scratch. What is mostly a good thing because—Did I mention this is my first published work? You can't imagine how bad my first attempt was. To quote a friend of mine I showed it to: „It is 100% sloppy! I could use this as THE example why I normally don’t read fan fictions“ 
Overall this is good news for you guys: the story is already completed! It only needs to be re-written... Chapter 2 is actually more or less finished: the proofreaders are already fixing all my screw-ups and I simply need to decide on a good end-point. I hope It will be ready for release next weekend and if things continue the way they currently go—who knows?—chapter three the week after?

3741127 I created the doc at December 24th (not sure about the symbolism in this fact...) But I really started writing only after New Years and finished the first on January 16th.
The revised first chapter took me about a week (without proofreading)
