    That She-Ra Fanfic is Published

Chapter one and the prologue are out. Chapter two is written. Chapter three is being written. If you want to see Catra be She-ra and a much more emotionally damaged She-ra at that, maybe click the link: https://archiveofourown.org/users/Distaff_Pope/works

    Non pony fanfics

So, despite saying I wanted to write original work, I realized I still love writing fanfiction. I'm also pretty solidly out of pony fanfics beyond an unsettled itch to get back into Sweetie Belle's head. Luckily, other shows exist with other damaged girls with undiagnosed Borderline Personality Disorder. What I'm saying is, I'm dabbling with a She-ra fanfic where Catara becomes She-ra and was

    Adapted Out

Ok, so by now, I think I've gone through enough stories to talk about things from the source material that aren't going to be a factor. Most of the reasons why they're omitted should be kind of obvious, but I want to run through them anyway. Note: I love all the things I'm about to talk about, and it hurts me to not include them, but they're not best for this story. I'm just explaining my

"Marked for Evil" is now "We Killed the Dinosaurs"

Just a quick PSA. I've changed the title for my current story because Marked for Evil just seemed so angsty. We Killed the Dinosaurs seems less so, in contrast, and I think speaks to the heart of the work more. I'm also debating changing cover art to show the meteor hitting earth and dinosaurs looking on moments before their doom, but I want feedback on that first.

    A Little Rewrite

So, someone pointed out to me yesterday that they had some issues with the magic camera. The first being how easily Sunset rolled with it once she got photographed, and also how convenient the camera was. In light of that, I rewrote a bit of chapter three and a good bit chapter four. So you don't all have to reread the chapters to see the changes, I'm posting the major changes here. The first is

Where did all the comments go? · 11:43pm Feb 6th, 2016

Okay, this is a bit silly, but I feel like there's been a dramatic downturn in my number of comments lately. Obviously, to the people still leaving comments, I'm very grateful for them, they always make my day, and to people who used to comment but aren't anymore, that's fine too, I'm just wondering why they dried up and if I did something wrong. I really do like all my commenters, and I hope I didn't scare them off. Reading a thoughtful comment always makes my day.

As always, I hope to see you all in the comments.

I haven't yet commented on that particular story, I don't think, but I'll offer the potential explanation that the story's in sort of a slow buildup stage. Sweetie's progressing very little as a character right now, and I'd even say that each chapter feels a little slower in that regard than the last.

Her immediate goals seem to become increasingly frivolous as we move forward, at least at a glance. A few chapters ago, she wanted to leave the hospital, and with that came wanting to get well enough to be released—now she seems to want to leave the hotel purely out of boredom. A few chapters ago, she got a glimpse of a fuller, healthier relationship and then indicated that she wanted that with Scootaloo—now it feels like little more than her doing whatever she can to get into Scootaloo's proverbial pants, just like before that healthy relationship revelation.

What I'm getting that is that even though her goals are shifting, her relationships with Rarity and Scootaloo are changing, and the setting's been swapped out, I personally feel like the story (and especially Sweetie herself) is getting more static. There's less and less I want to say (even if I haven't actually said anything at all yet), and it's like I'm just waiting for the next thing to come, hoping all the while that my initial impression of this being a more mature Sweetie Belle than the one in Lightness wasn't incorrect.

This story is next on my list to read, so be patient!

3737580 She is moving more towards maturity, I think, but it comes in fits and spurts and she has a huge snag in her mind when it comes to Scootaloo. And yeah, she wants to get out because she's bored. It's been a month and a half since she woke up, and she's been outside once. Most ponies and people will be going stir crazy by then. Even I'd be getting antsy.

And... There is a lot more I'd like to write, but I don't want to post major development spoilers, but yes, she is kind of stuck at the moment as old habits and instincts prove hard to eliminate.

3737601 Also, it's fine. I was just... I like comments and feedback, I think I have some of the best readers in the world and I like hearing their thoughts.

Lazyness, and waiting to see where it's going. :rainbowwild:

3738405 It's fine. I remember you mentioning that in our little talk earlier. Also, I'm thinking based on what my chapters look like that next chapter would work better on Super Bowl Sunday than Valentines Day. Hmm...

Honestly, I really like the story, but most chapters I'm simply enjoying it develop. I doubt it would be constructive to have a comment of 'yay, I liked x! What happens next?'
You've really given this incarnation of Sweetie an interesting life. Hopefully it gets better, but complications are fun to read. Keep up the good work please!

Sry, just not a big commenter. :twilightblush:

I think it's a mixed bag. For example, because of how Sweetie Belle had been acting, I haven't gotten around to reading this particular story. You may have some readers who are waiting.

But then again, it could be that some just aren't commenting because they forget or they don't have time. Or that it's just the same kind of goodness level that they don't have much to say at this moment until a really mind blowing event occurs.

Just keep holding on and appreciate what you do get. Everything will be ok.

I disappeared into my paint room after I was reinspired to play my Tyranid army, finally checked back on this sight and will get around to reading soon.

in good mood considering I built a Mawlock, 16 Hormagaunts, 2 Zoanathropes, a Venomthrope, and a Mycetic spore while also painting another 16 Hormagaunts, 12 Tourmagaunts, 8 Genestealers, 10 gargoyles, and finnaly shading my Hive tyrant. to think it only took 2 weeks to do all that... Cries that still has to paint around 70 Dark Angel models and build 4 more vehicles and paint around 50 more Tyranids models. I'll go read now...
