And now back to your regularly scheduled programming...

Oh look, a Hey Ocean! song came on as soon as I started writing this.

    Anyway...

    Elementary, my dear bronies...

That phrase isn't even part of the Sir Arthur Conan Doyle canon of Sherlock Holmes. But whatever.

So, I love mysteries. I think detectives are sexy (as well as thieves, but that's a whole different story). Especially people as incredibly awesome as Sherlock Holmes.

Well. That's probably more than you'll ever need to know about me.

Hi ho, hi ho, it's off to work I go... · 2:57pm Aug 16th, 2012

I figured I'd start keeping up a blog, just for fun. And I love exposition.

Anyway, I currently have two stories posted, The Sound of Silence and Foalhoods.

For TSoS, I'm planning on updating once a week (usually Thursday, but somewhere around that day, anyway). I had originally planned thirteen chapters, but I might expand that to fourteen or even fifteen now (I have the story completely outlined, it's just where I'll make the chapter breaks that might change). I have ten chapters done, and with that much of a lead I've taken a break from writing to work on other stories of my fancy. But I seriously think you should check this work out, and if you don't like the first couple of chapters, just skim the next one. Personally, I think it starts getting good a little later. But, I don't know, I'm writing the type of story I really want to read, but no one else has written. Which forces me to author it. And I prefer reading over writing, just because when I'm writing I know what's going to happen (for the most part), so I lose the surprise and marvel of the story.

Foalhoods took up a lot of my writing time, getting that first oneshot done. The idea for this story came when I realized that a lot of people's opinions on the mane six's foalhoods was a lot different from mine. Fluttershy is often considered an orphan, Pinkie Pie is depicted as a lot more unstable and traumatized from her youth than I ever would have suspected, and Rainbow Dash often gets all the familial love. So I started this story to show my own canon for what each of their foalhoods was like. I started with Rainbow Dash who is best pony, and my labor of love ended up taking me over a day to write. When originally I had thought, "Oh this will be easy, it's a bunch of oneshots! I can finish them all in a day!" Ha. Ha. No. Anyway, the next one I'm working on is Rarity's. But unlike TSoS, I'll update this a lot more infrequently. Seeing as they are each oneshots and none of them really connect (unless any of them meet in their foalhoods), I don't need to worry about people forgetting what happened in a previous chapter or anything like that. It's like they're each a separate story. So, really, I'll only slave away on this story if I'm sparked with a sudden need to write, like how I was with Rainbow Dash's chapter.

I've got a third story underway... It's actually a healthy mix of TSoS and Foalhoods, update-wise. The way I'm writing it, each chapter is connected, but I can update it infrequently and it'll still be fresh. I'm really excited about this one, because it's my first attempt at comedy and my first attempt at writing in first person. I've completed the first chapter, which I could publish now and not have to worry about quick updates... But I'm not sure I'm ready to commit to juggling three stories at once. Besides, I like to get a bit ahead before I share my stories. Expect this soon, though, I've never been one to patiently sit on an idea when it's share-able...

I have a fourth story currently floating around in my head. I watched a movie the other day which was... well, it wasn't bad. But, uh... Let's just say the writing needed a polish and the actors were rather wooden and very amateurish, but the idea/concept was cool. And I can easily turn it into an interesting MLP story. So, while I'm busy writing these other three stories, eventually I'll get around to working on this fourth one. I've already got the title and basic plot figured out, it's just a matter of when I can write it without feeling like I'm betraying the other stories I actually should be working on.

Speaking of which... I should probably just go and finish writing TSoS. I want to be done with it before I go back to school in September, and that'll free up my time to work on writing my other stories. I should be quick, before I get another incorporeal thought that I feel needs to be solidified. And then I'll be all cluttered with ideas and get all stressed over nothing and meh.

But, uh, yeah. First blog post. I'm gonna go take a shower now. But if you actually read this, cool, thanks for stopping by. Read my stuff, like it, comment on it... You know, make me feel special that some random, anonymous person on the internet has clicked on a link that I created and wasted time staring at my nonsense.

Yay, Rarity's next! :derpytongue2:
I've only read Foalhoods till now, and that made me cry enough to water my garden. Your work on that is pretty good, too bad it won't get updates as frequently though... :raritydespair:

From what I've got so far, Rarity's won't be messing with any tear ducts. I'm playing more with the kind of pony Rarity is. You know, overdramatic with lots of flair. So I'm hoping that when I finally get around to writing the whole thing out, you can enjoy something new and refreshing from what you got in The Other Side of the Rainbow. But it's just the kind of thing where when a Rarity-writing-mood strikes, I'll retreat to my den and write nonstop and finish in a day. Then I'll spend a second day reading it over for glaring mistakes, and finally I'll publish it.

But I know exactly which pony I'm ending the series with, and that one will probably be the saddest thing I'll ever write...
