Feathered Hearts C&C chapter 40 will launch tonight

I apologize for the long delay. The chapter draft was submitted to prereaders a month ago and well-received, but the graphics have taken me a while and several false starts. The main reason is I tried multiple methods to include unit icons in the maps of Aresia, but the end result always seems more cluttered than anything else. Here's an example:

    Without unit icons:

New Midnight Rising chapter off to prereaders...

At long last. This is the redo of the chapter I was forced to scrap in April and then about 80% rewrite. I saved a few select bits and pieces from the original version, but the rest went by the wayside.

Still pecking away on Midnight Rising and Feathered Hearts...

The two Lemon Zest chapters of Midnight Rising have now reached 26,600 words and they’re still nowhere near done, with probably another 5-6k words to go. Gotta treat the girl right, after all, and also make sure there’s plenty of sexy side dishes around her. And as for Feathered Hearts?

    Still working on Midnight Rising...

At the rate of about 800-1000 words a day. That’s my key to getting stuff done that’s causing you issues; just be sure you put at least a little time in on it this day to have some forward momentum. The two chapters are now up to 24,100 words. I’ll work on it more this weekend, at least around continuing work around the maps and battle graphics I’m making for Feathered Hearts.

Did two things this past weekend...

First, I ran 10k for the first time in two months after laying off that long to let my ankle bursitis subside, trying to allow the area to generally heal up. It appears that it worked. To my delight, there was no ankle pain after and I hadn’t even lost much stamina thanks to hitting an elliptical machine twice a week for an hour instead of jogging. My upper legs are another matter, though.

Unleash the Magic going to prereaders... · 9:53pm Dec 12th, 2015

The new Equestria Girls story release is coming within a few days, folks, though it won't be a finished story to start. Like all my projects, this has grown out of its original scope and trying to give it proper treatment is taking some time. So out of the 12,000 or so words I've got right now, I'm releasing the first 8,500 in five separate chapters. Why such short chapters? Two reasons: first, this kind of adult content is best delivered in small, discrete doses rather than all thrown together, and second, breaking it up as I did actually makes sense because... well, you'll probably get it when you see the chapter titles.

Want another teaser? Fine. This one isn't suggestive, but I think it will definitely be a crowd-pleaser...

We were in trouble. I knew that by everything from the sinking feeling in my gut to the still-spreading portals around me as Midnight remained perched on the ruins of the statue stand, studying her schoolmates with a look of lazy anticipation.

And things had the potential to go from bad to worse, thanks to my own ex-boyfriend. “Whoa! Twilight’s gone crazy! I gotta stop her…” Flash Sentry shook off his shock and stepped forward.

“Flash, don’t!” Applejack all but tackled him. “That ain’t your Twilight! Ain’t ours, either.”

“Huh? what do you mean?” he looked confused.

Pinkie tried to be helpful. “She means that Twilight is obviously the Twilight from this world since it couldn't possibly be the Twilight from the pony world since the Twilight from the pony world doesn't go to Crystal Prep or wear glasses!”

Flash stared at her blankly.

“In short, that’s this world’s Twilight, not the pony world one! So she doesn’t know you!” Rarity clarified.

“They’re right, Flash. Don’t,” I added myself. “It won’t end well.”

“What…?” she looked from me to Midnight again. “But that’s my Twilie! She’d never hurt me! I know she’ll listen to me!” he broke away from us and ran forward towards her, leaping a small rift portal, causing all of us to cringe. “Twilight!” he called out to her, causing her to turn her head towards him. “It’s me! Flash Sentry! Don’t you know me?”

Midnight turned her gaze on him, visibly annoyed at having her thoughts interrupted. “Should I?”

“Of course you do! “I was the first guy you met here! I invited you to the Fall Formal and we danced together! You like my guitar playing! Don’t you remember?” At that moment, I wished I had my unicorn magic back so I could mute him and yank him backwards. As always, his heart was in the right place, but his brain definitely wasn’t.

And then he had to deliver the coup de grâce to the whole awkward affair. “We’re a thing! You like me, Twilie!” he told her, causing everyone on the CHS side of the field to facepalm with a series of loud smacks.

I was certain Flash was about meet a worse fate than Cinch, but look on Midnight’s face was that of someone being made to suffer fools. She stared at him for several long moments with a bored expression before replying. “I think you have me mistaken for someone else. And just why, pray tell, would I be interested in some idiot guitar-head like you?” With that, her horn glowed as she made a dismissive wave of her hand and Flash was suddenly swept off his feet and tossed bodily into the air. There was a loud clattering sound as he landed head first in a half-full dumpster outside the wall and the lid slammed shut behind him.

“Dude… harsh…” Rainbow Dash grimaced.
