    Bookish Delight (FINAL)

    (sort of)

    Hey, folks. This thing on?

So I was originally trying to write this big essay blogpost about where I've been and the future of Bookish and all that, but... it didn't pan out. So we'll do the much, much shorter version that should still tell you what's important.

    WELCOME TO THE FUTURE

Did you think it was over

...yeah, that's fair, so did I. Still need to talk about that when I'm able. Until then...

    ELa Famille Royale
The Zephyr Heights royals just helped change the world. Unfortunately, this isn't the first time they've done so, and they'll have to answer for that... just as soon as they work on themselves.

    Question For the Crowd!

What, in your opinion, are Equestria's most significant locations? (i.e. Canterlot, Cloudsdale, etc.)

Please keep it to... oh, top 7, and excluding Ponyville/the Everfree Forest.

Thanks to all who answer!

I Only Partially Believe In Coincdences · 9:30pm Dec 10th, 2015

uotapo's latest currently has me wiping the spittake off of my monitor.

I'm trying really, really hard not to take some kind of proxy credit for this. I suppose I should ask him, though.

Soon as I stop laughing. This could take a while.

(Also yeah, I guess it's been decided by popular vote that Sunny's been dual-wielding Pip-Boys this whole time. Sure. ^_^;;)

This is amazing.

Also, I gotta love the Fallout reference with Sunny's Pip Boy...

At least Twilight will get to pass her confusion on to them once they're done throwing her around.

Also I feel like we need to adjust the panel where Sunny has targeted Twilight with VATS. It needs a health bar with a section that blinks.

I guess it's been decided by popular vote that Sunny's been dual-wielding Pip-Boys this whole time.

Or she's got a pair of minicons strapped to her wrists, :trollestia:

Also, is it just me or does Uotapo's Cadance look better than the actual Cadance? :trixieshiftright:

Really, it's only fair that pony Twilight experience some of the confusion that her human counterpart felt when first walking through Canterlot High. Imagine if she met the human analogues of her parents...

And now I kind of want to write that story.

See, right there

that's your sequel

Also, is it just me or does Uotapo's Cadance look better than the actual Cadance? :trixieshiftright:

He's really good at that.

Haha, you have no idea, :pinkiecrazy:

(I'll send you a PM later; the ideas are too good to keep to myself but I don't want to completely spoil them for anyone who might come to your blog)

I hear you about Uotapo, too, he's got his own folder in my art archive, :raritywink:

Did anyone beside me notice the destination on the bus was for Twilight?

Ermahgerd, that Sugarcoat in the fifth panel! Friggin' adorable.

3608584
It's not just you. I felt like there was something definitely off about EqG Cadance.

Is the Pipboy ref making a joke I am not getting? I just thought it was kind of funny she had one. :applejackconfused:
EDIT: ....Wow I just don't notice ANYTHING on my own... :fluttershbad:

Lemon needs her little stormcloud though. :derpytongue2:

As much as I defend P-Celly's and Veep-Luna's designs (and will continue to do so until my dying breath), Dean Cadance really did look like just Princess Cadance's head pasted onto a generic pink body to me.

...she can still counsel me anytime, mind you--but it didn't escape my notice, no.

3608620

Sure, let the ideas fly at your leisure. I'll warn you, though--I... may have purposefully skipped the series with the Minicons in 'em. ^^;

Must resist...extolling on Armada....

3608993
3609598
Way ahead of you. I've already got a local best friend who's an Armada fanboy.

Thus, yes, I know how Starscream got to be a total boss for once. I just figured that was all I needed? :pinkiehappy:

Ah yes, Art imitates Life imitates Art...the Circle of Life really does move us all.
Also, is this the same artist who does those delightful "Sunset Helper" pics? Even if it isn't, it feels similar, and I feel like it really is just sort of the platonic ideal for what EqG ought to have looked like. Three movies in, I'm pretty well Zen about its character designs, mind, and it's not as if said designs are devoid of merit or anything like that. But the extra "oomph" of visual personality these comics give them really makes me wish we had that little Something More, personally (sorry, animators, but a lot of the "base model" tricks that work for Pony Bods do not translate as effectively to People).
Still 'n all, this is a delightful comic, tapping into the same delightful notions you played with so effectively in your own story. Three cheers to delightfulness. 8D

(Also yeah, I guess it's been decided by popular vote that Sunny's been dual-wielding Pip-Boys this whole time. Sure. ^_^;;)

Times like this I wish I knew more/cared about "Fallout". >w>;

I'll bet the only way Sunny could have gotten the Pip-Boy was by preordering Fallout 4.

3609622
It's more than just Screamer, though his character arc ultimately was a high point, but the story gets signficantly more interesting after the halfway point. It's not my favorite entry in the franchise by a long shot, but it has its merits, and when it is good, it tends to be very good.
3609862
It is, in fact, the same person.

3609622

I've already got a local best friend who's an Armada fanboy.

I also watched Armada, but only... like... first 12 episodes, and some four series where Thrust appears in the first, and in the fourth, we see a giant-ass Tidal Wave. After that, I was unable to get my hands on any of the DVDs.

Torrents are BFFs again?!

3609615

...wow, those looked mildly awesome. Especially the opening--

NO YOU CAN'T MAKE ME :raritydespair:

(I will never get used to those Minicons though. They freak me out. :O It's like... adding parts to something that's already supposed to be transformably cool by itself I dunno)

3608632 O.K., if that's not An Atlantis Squarepantis reference, I don't know what is.

3608993
3609615

Watched the first few Armada episodes today with the aforementioned Fanboy.

Enjoyed them. Will watch more sporadically!

(Really, though, had you simply mentioned Garry Chalk and David Kaye, I would have gotten on this much more quickly. :D)

3617263
Oh. Right. I was, uh, totally going to say that next... >.>
Gary Chalk is Optimus and David Kaye is Megatron, yeeeeeees.

3617490
Oh I simply can't agree here. Beast Wars Megatron was so absolutely perfect. :raritydespair:

Completely with you on his Optimus in TFA though...Yeeeeesssss.

And now we are COMPLETELY off topic and I should probably stop perpetuating this particular discussion. :twilightsheepish:

The script improves immeasurably after the second half.

3617496
3617490
I watch Power Rangers, guys. Compared to the last four years of the Neo-Saban Era, Armada's early script is actually above average. :rainbowlaugh: And when it's not, it's a good laugh.

I default to BW!Megs's superiority until I see more of this series, whereupon I will gladly re-evaluate. Armada!Megs is great so far but the lack of silky-smooth "yeeeesssss"es have him at quite the handicap! :pinkiehappy:
