Needing to find an image of Sweetie Belle's mother to describe her (hey, she's only appeared in one episode as far as i can remember off the top of my head, so you'll have to forgive me if i can't remember how a pony i only see in one single episode looks) in Diamond Tiara's backstory, i've noticed something that... while i could just play it off as coincidence in colour design... i couldn't help noticing it.
I can't be the only one who notices how... similar Sweetie and Diamond's mother's look, right? Right?
Is this just coincidence or... is there some hidden backstory between their families we don't know about? Are Spoiled Rich and Sweetie's mother sisters, cousins?
It's a thought that kinda unnerves me, really. I mean, now that Diamond's turned over a new leaf... wouldn't that make things a bit more awkward for the two fillies if they learned they'd been related this whole time?
What are your thoughts?
Also, i only just noticed, but Sweetie's mum's stomach is pretty big, isn't it. You don't think maybe...?

Rarity's mum is named Cookie Crumble, and Spoiled Rich gets her last name from marriage, so it's entirely possible that they could even be sisters.
If they both came from an upper-middle class family with a connection to the typical 'mum's style' of baking.
It's not that much of a stretch.
Something else that's bothering me: Sweetie Belle doesn't look anything like her parents. She looks an awful lot like Rarity, though. Maybe, like in Dear Sweetie Belle, Rarity is actually her mom. I mean, neither of her parents have pink curly hair or green eyes.
That actually makes me notice that Tiara and Belle share similar color palettes.
3596389 You mentioning that has actually made me notice, they both have the same colours, only Sweetie coat colour is included in Diamond's hair, whilst Diamond's is in Sweetie's. This just get more eerie by the minute.
wouldn't be surprised if their cousins. Think of it. Sweetie's parents are gone A LOT in the show. So much that Rarity seems to take care of her more then they do.
If they are some what rich they could explain it and being a distant relation to Rich means they might have a slice of the Barnyard Bargins pie. It would also help to see why Rarity can be so generous. She has never had real need for anything so she could be giving. Sort of Bruce Wayne style.

I have to say... I'm more interested in the prospect of Sweetie and Rarity's father being an Earth Pony instead of a Unicorn, what with how physical Rarity is despite being a Unicorn. Would also bring to a greater understanding of a personal struggle she has of being accepted by Unicorn society since she'd be a half-breed amongst a culture that prides itself (apparently) on an non-compromised genetic pedigree.
Quick to aggression through physicality. Check.
Usage and familiarity of physical combat despite possessing magic. Check.
The fact that we see all of the Mane Six fighting against the Changelings and through it all we see Twilight, Applejack, Fluttershy, Rainbow and Pinkie holding their ground against small squads while a massive battle is taking place in the background... Yep, Rarity is the most capable fighter out of all six of them and is DEFINITELY Half-Earth Pony because of this.
