    Status update

I've been getting various comments on stories and in PM's from people asking me about the future of stories and whether or not I plan to update things or just generally what the heck is going on, since my stories haven't been updated in like... forever and a half.

So, here's things as they stand.

    Ah, if only...

If only we lived like a hundred or so years in the future, where mankind finally invented devices to record our thoughts straight onto a computer.

"But Aprion, you dastardly daydreaming villain, why do you wish this?" I hear you asking. I shall explain.

    Pony Life

    So....... yeah....

I watched the first episodes of Pony Life. And just as I feared, this crap is just terrible. :pinkiesick:
This is like Friendship is Magic as seen through the eyes of a five year old on crack. Or maybe some extremely bizarre Discord reality. :pinkiecrazy:

Alicorns are a joke · 9:53pm Nov 28th, 2015

The season finally confirmed it. Alicorns are no big deal. Twilight got her flank kicked around by a regulair unicorn. Repeatedly. Celestia got her flank handed to her by Cryssalis with a single magical zap. She also couldn't handle Sombra. I'm calling it. Alicorns are a freaking joke. The only thing they got going for them is longevity.

I would tend to agree.

Which is why I think Twilight should've stayed a unicorn.

The only reason that it even happened was so Hasbro could sell another alicorn toy.

No more, no less.

And while the season finale wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, I came away thoroughly unimpressed.

Although I did like the versions of Dash in the Sombra and Nightmare Moon alternate timelines.

Other than that, I was distinctly underwhelmed by it.

Did the song at the end make me cry?

Yeah, a bit. But not much.

Not as much as either Crusaders of the Lost Mark or The Mane Attraction, which are my top two fave episodes for this season.

All-in-all, with this as a season finale, I'm no longer sure if I'm looking forward to Season 6 (whenever Hasbro and DHX deign to finally give it to us, that is) like I once was.

Not with Starlight in it.

On another note, though, I think that, with this kind of season finale, all my head-canons are still very much intact.

The only exception to that might the CMC's Cutie Marks, but even then, I don't plan on changing what I have planned for that in the majority of my stories.

3575288 I quite agree. I detest the idea of having more starlight glimmer in the future. I seriously dislike that pony. I want her gone. And I want Sunset to come back to Equestria and have adventures with the mane six. Ah well if wishes were horses ( or ponies I guess )

I did like all the alternate futures they toyed around with. Perfect fanfic food if you ask me :pinkiecrazy: the ending was extremely underwhelming indeed. If anything crusaders of the lost mark or heck even Do princesses dream of magic sheep would have made a better seasons finale.

3575361 Thank you.

And it's nice to see that someone agrees with me on that. I don't want her to stick around, either; like you, I want her gone. (and if she should (for whatever convenient reason) disappear, I know I wouldn't shed any tears about it.
That's how much I dislike her.

I'd like that, too. But I think she's permanently stuck at CHS for the duration.

To be very honest, where this finale was concerned, they could have stretched it to 90 minutes, give more time to each alternate future, and it would've been better.
But noooooo. DHX (and Hasbro) just had to have their obligatory "villain redemption" ending.
Sooooo dumb.

I mean, heck, Chrysalis, Sombra and Tirek weren't redeemed. They got their just desserts (Chrysalis and her bugs blasted to who-knows-where, Sombra was destroyed and, of course, Tirek got sent back to Tartarus where he belongs), but did she?
Again, no.

And that's true.

As to the alternate futures, you're so right. (In fact, i can hear the story plot bunnies stampeding (better say "running amuck"!) on these.)
Getting a few ideas of my own on those, actually.

Oh, was it ever! It was the worst season ender ever, in my opinion.

Totally agree with you, on all points.
And I think that Crusaders of the Lost Mark would've been a good finale.
Or, if they absolutely had to use this one, Starlight remained bad, and gotten life in prison, or banished, or something.

Not ... what we got.

I am sorry but I have to disagree with both of you. I am a person who loves to take apart things fakt by fakt so lets dive into the why, shall we?
First of all 'Alicorns are a joke'. Have you guys forgot about Tirek? You know the big guys who had the potential power of millions of ponies+Discord+his own power and still got fought to a standstill by Twilight who ONLY had the combined power of four alicorns. That alone would put the balance normal pony-alicorn completely of balance.
Secondly, what is a alicorn basically the buffed version the powers of the three pony tribes combined, it says nowhere how much power that actually is. I don't think Applejack could survive being crashed into a mountain. Nor could Rainbow ever fly that fast with just one flap of her wings.
I think what makes you say that is the fact that MLP when put into perspective with, for example, ninjutsu are extremely weak Übersetzen but in the MLP cannon alicorns are vastly superior to the others but not just on the basis of blasting everything with lasers but eventually living millenia long being able to be dragged to hell and just have a scratch and moving the sun and the moon ALONE.
But back on track. The big difference that you have to understand first is that ponies are PACIFISTS(The only real combat seplls known being shilds), and that is capitalized for a reason.
You see the thing closest we have come to a pony actually attempting to physically harm(not kill) someone is Twilight vs Tirek and even if Twilight would have one I highly doubt that she would have killed him, she is way to much like Celestia to do that, after all when the Changelings attacked the worst she did was knock them out and damask them. The only ponies that I could can think of that would really harm someone are Luna, Dash, Applejack and that is, all of them for different reasons. Twilight could have easily annihilated Starlight at any point but would never harm anyone. If MLP EVER got a villain that is capable of driving one of the four alicorns over the edge then the age rating would rise Realy fast and would not end pretty for anyone involved.

To finish they are not completely over the top OP ponies of doom but definitely deserve the position they are in.

3675214 Hmmm, well, I guess you have some pretty valid points there.

my head hurts now...:moustache::pinkiecrazy:

yup complete joke just a gimmick well at least they have wings

That is a thing called the Worf effect.

And in the case of Celestia's defeat it was Chrysalis who was jacked up to the point of beating an Alicorn.

For Twilight well Starlight was preparing hersef for that confrontation. She was ready to fight only one alicorn:Twilight Spakle

Those that can win by overpowering alicorns are Nightmare Moon, Discord, Chrysalis (circonstancialy. When it happend even she was surprised), Tirek.

Those that used tricks are Sombra who can make magic jaming crystals and Starlight who analised her opponent beforehand.

Now if Luna get owned (she must haved spent a part of those lonely nights full of resent a thoursand years ago training if the flashback of her banishment is anything to go by) facing a "normal" villain without any endicaps then yes I will agree that alicorns are a joke.

Remember Cadace continously held a shied around the crystal empire while Sombra attacked it.

After refexion Celestia has apparent combat experience (dark crystal war excluded) so could teach little onthe subjet to Twilight
