Wish we could do more stories like this. Instead of TCB · 8:58am Nov 28th, 2015
The Conversion Bureau never dies it seems. (See the feature box... see what's first in the feature box at the moment as of 28/11/2015)
I know I'm making a blog about it and have written quite a few ATCB stories. And I've liked some TCB stories myself where humanity wins against the ponies invading Earth.
But I wish we could do more stories like this. Instead of TCB. Because it would be the more likely thing the canon ponies would do, instead of TCB.
Earth is slowly becoming lifelessness due to disastrous industrial expansion and environmental change. At the time, the humans lacked interstellar flight capacity to reach other stars, and with their population bursting at eleven billion, they faced certain doom.
However, just as humanity fights over the last remaining clean water and food magical alien ponies come. In the following ten years, the ponies would transport millions of human to Equestria. The remaining billions left on Earth (or the ponies try help and heal the planet) would perish on their dying planet, warring against each other for diminishing resources.
On Equestria, humans now thrive co-existing with the ponies.
Just replace a few things and you'd have a far more uplifting story than TCB.
Humanity might not necessarily have such a high population, but this is TCB logic we're talking about, so forgive me.
forgive me... what is to forgive your right. I think we need more uplifting stores.
That world is pretty much Mad Max with alien ponies.

About the fact we would have a population of 11 billion?Edit: Yeah, we need more uplifting stores.
People piggyback off TCB's fame because it's popular. It's the same reason that so many Fallout: Equestria spin-offs continue to spawn, despite the genre largely flopping. Some people just want to ride the coattails of fame before they miss it.

Yeah, that's probably the main reason.
3573709 Cynical. Only unhealthy if taken too far.

Inspiration for creativity is good. Most readers have the ability to discern creativity from desire for popularity, thankfully; it's impossible to say that all TCB spinoffs are junk, I just haven't found any that I like other than a funny satirical version.
I question the logistics of mass importing millions of new mouths to feed.
