Fuzzy and Sequels: A Why Not · 10:42am Nov 15th, 2015
Let's call this 'Exhibit A'
Now, I know you guys and gals want me to write more of my existing stories. New chapters, follow-ups, sequels...and I do want to do that. But I want to also remind you that I am not a professional novelist(as I am, technically, a professional writer at my day job). I write for my entertainment, and hopefully yours. I know from the requests and demands that come in that you do like what I produce and that fills my heart like you wouldn't believe. But sadly...the Fuzz is a bit of a putz.
I am an idea man. I write the good ones, and sometimes they are better than even I grasp and they latch onto you guys and I get bombarded by calls for more. These calls don't fall on deft ears, but I'm already onto the next thing. And I want you to know that when I can get to these sequels, I will. But there is a queue of new stuff I have lined up and until it gets its fat ass out of the way, the 'moar now' category stuff is on the back burner.
So let's do some of that! That lil' gem up there is my next fic. It has been in the works since this time LAST YEAR and I'm not going to sit on it any longer. Dazzling Sunset is currently 5 chapters long, 30,000 words, and no...it's not complete. But as of now, chapter 5 IS, so I'm going to start releasing it. Unlike the experiment with My Little Dynamite, where I dropped the whole 42K words at once, I intend to let this one out a little bit at a time. Right now, the idea is the first 2 chapters at launch, and then one chapter per month.
The reason I want to do that is to give me the chance to finish up the last chapter to Alicorn Switcheroo and completely clear it off my plate. Same thing for the next couple of chapters to My Little Dynamite: Book Two. I want to have 10 of them ready to start releasing THAT sequel. After I get there, I intend to take a step back, look at the state of my fics and hit the words hard. I want to continue to produce better and better quality new fics as well as work in the sequels you want.
All I ask is that you give me time, and keep me honest.
