    I'm (still) not quite dead...

I'm sorry, I am so very sorry for the lack of updates on, well, anything. A few of you have probably noticed that I've still been putting in the occasional appearance or comment, but as for chapter updates...yeah I've barely written anything for months for various reasons - work sucks, arranging a couple vacations, a falling out in my D&D group of 14 years, and just a sort of malaise that

    When you're writing a chapter...

And listening to music to keep yourself in the mood, and then you hear a song that has you suddenly realize that you've been writing the entire chapter wrong and should have instead been basing it around the song - not necessarily using the song directly (especially since that would be against site rules concerning wholesale copying of lyrics), but certainly drawing on it for inspiration.

The Good News and the Bad News

The good news is that I got a root canal on Monday. No more pain in teeth. Yay!

The bad news is that I was 3/4ths of the way through the next chapter of Midnight Castle (~5000 words) and realized that I was writing it totally wrong. I need to go back to practically the start and change up a lot, though I'm salvaging lines and paragraphs wherever I can.

What? no Misfits? No Meteors? No Blood sucking zombies from outer space?
Y'all need to get more horror music in yer life!

I advise anything by the Misfits, but "Halloween" is the go to classic,

The Meteors is a great psychobilly band for this too, try "The hills have eyes" or "Bone bag"

Blood sucking zombies from outer space is fantastic for this. I'd advise "killer clowns from outer space" cover, "Radio active" and "GHOUL" from them for musical choices.

Well, I only just bought about half of the songs maybe ten minutes ago. Normally I go in for Christmas much more than Halloween - which reminds me, I should get "This is Halloween" on there - but this year I have disposable income.

Volaire-Black unicorn, Land of the dead, canniba buffet, beast of pirates bay, graveyard picnic (Its about Drinking next to the awesome Poe's grave), Devil and Mr. Jones, and vampire club

Evanessence: Haunted

Brony: Constelations, Nightmare night, Monsters on nightmare night, She's a vampire, endless mist of nightmares,

Disney: This is halloween

That's a great playlist so far and that must be Tombstone's remix of "Nightmare Night" right? Because Glaze did the original.

If you don't mind some instrumental tunes in your mix, Mannheim Steamroller's Halloween album is pretty nifty... they put a nice spin on some classics like Night on Bald Mountain, The Sorcerer's Apprentice, and Funeral March for a Marionette.

Toccata and Fugue in D Minor is another classic... (I think Mannheim does that one too, but it's a jazzier version).

Danny Elfman is a good name to look up... songs from Nightmare before Christmas, Army of Darkness, Batman... and a whole bunch of Tim Burton movies.

Ghost Riders in the Sky is another good one, although it's more metaphorical than anything really nightmarish.

Nightwish's Scaretale is always a good choice. And pretty much everything from Ghost (BC).

How about "Hellfire" from Hunchback of Notre Dame or "Friends on the Other Side" from Princess and the Frog?

Or, if Disney villain songs aren't your thing, try "Monster" by Skillet.

Will Evil Counterparts and/or Shadow Archetypes to the Lunaverse mane six appear in the Lunaverse eventually?
