Chapter 3 of The Lunar Guardsman is out. Also, looking for help editing. · 4:25pm Oct 18th, 2015
I got up today at 9:00, a major sin to someone who formerly believed weekends were made for sleeping in, and started writing the 3rd chapter of the Lunar Guardsman, managing to get from 4k words to 10.5k by 6:30 with only small breaks for munchies, water and toilet runs (not toilet runs, just bathroom breaks, you know).
I got no idea if that is considered fast or slow and I don't really care. Its a personal best that left me with a slight headache and I will celebrate this victory with a drink (of water soluble aspirin).
As far as the chapter goes, I did not want to drag Twilight's and Raegdan's confrontation too much or get them in crazy shenanigans. This is not what the story is about anyway. This chapter is where most of our players are put in place so that the true game can slowly unveil itself.
Next chapter is pretty evident what is gonna be about and its where we will get the first view of the main meat of the story. I am very excited about getting into that but I will probably not start writing it until Tuesday but it might turn out smaller. Depends on what the characters decide to do while I type. I got a general outline of what will happen with a few scenes vivid in my mind but my fingers are like PC's, doing their own stuff.
I hope I haven't caused grammatical murder in the degree of the first chapter (I think I nailed about 60 uncapitalised "I" before i fixed it), I went over it with Search, looking for the usual suspects, looked for the squiggly lines representing spelling agony and reread it but I am tired, feeling dizzy and did not want to delay this so out there in the wild it goes with all its remaining faults.
Go, little chapter. Go and fly. You are free! FREE!
So, since I am certain I will be giving free headaches to every grammar conscious reader, in an effort to reduce future victims I am asking for help in editing. If someone can help me with this noble endeavor I will be grateful. Some info on how you go about this whole editing business is also needed. Do I put the chapter in question in Google Docs, give my editor a password to see the chapter, make smoke signals? What is the etiquette here?
Now, before I finish my first blog announcement, I want to say this.
Thank you to everyone who read, liked and/or commented on The Lunar Guardsman. You guys have filled me with pride for this and I will do my best to fulfill my side of the bargain.
I would definitely love to edit for this story! Message me whenever you get a chance and we can talk about details
Don't thank us man, your the one doing all the work!
I would rather thank you than thank us :)
I haven't read the story yet... I was waiting for a few more chapters out.
But I can help you with the editing and assist in explaining the most ideal edit procedures, seeing as I already co-edit for The Hat Man's story. He's a peach.
Typically, Hat puts the new chapter up in docs, the invites me and two others to make editions. We do this under the 'suggestions' format. If you'd like, I could assist in editing. Ask Hat, I'm not too shabby.
Also...
That is a hellaciously fast type speed. I can barely get in 2k a day...
Just PM me if you're interested
I heard edit.
Hailstorm is here to lend a hand (pun intended). That is if you already don't have an editor
I would love to be able to help. But Demon Eyes Leharl and Immortan Joe are keeping me busy.
