First Blog Post...yay?
Well I suppose I'd best put some stuff up about myself.
I took a Creative Writing & English Degree before the economy took a nosedive and the stuff I'll post here will probably be the first extensive writing work I've done in nearly two years. I want to say it's because I needed a break but, really, I just didn't have any motivation. Then MLP came along.
Well, maybe not. I've read a bit of MLP fanfic before (Fallout Equestria and the Dr Whooves fic 'Mines of Dragon Mountain' being standouts in my opinion) but it took until I decided to attend the UK Brony Convention B.U.C.K before my pony creativity started to get fired up.
And thus we reach my first submission. Britannia the Unauthorised Biography about my own interpretation of the B.U.C.K mascot's life and adventures in Equestria. It may have something to do with making a plush of her for the con auction (my first real one as well) http://ukofequestria.co.uk/threads/b-u-c-k-mascot-britannia-plushy.2898/ but actually turning her unique design into something physical made me think about how she would fit into the MLP universe. The answer: eh, not that well. But I'm nothing if not creative and so my story will mostly be a 'behind the scenes' take on how the Royal Guard and international politics could work within a mostly conjectured setting.
I may get around to writing the 'Fate, Destiny & Icecream' story I've had in my head as well but that'll wait until I'm ready I think.
Really, though, I see my moving into the world of fanfic writing as a positive step forward as at least I have something to care enough about to write again. Once again, ponies prove their awesome: they somewhat kinda justify the three years and 10 grand that arts degree cost me...yay?
