The Start of Spitfires story
"AHH!" Spitfire screamed as her alarm blared next to her, sending the skyborn flailing out of her bed in a tangle of limbs and sheets. She rushed to her feet, snatching up the clock.
"SHIT IM LATE!" She panicked, snatching up her shirt and backpack, sliding down the stairs and waving to her big sister.
"Don't forget your pants!" Firefly called, never tearing her eyes from her newspaper and taking a dainty sip of her coffee. The teenager swore under her breath, rushing back upstairs to snag a pair of jeans. She hobbled her way back down the stairs, one leg in the jeans and her shirt in her teeth.
"Why didn't you wake me?" she growled around the shirt. Firefly raised an eyebrow checking her watch.
"I'm not gonna be at the academy to get you up on time sis, might as well get use to it now" Firefly pointed out, taking another sip of her coffee. Spitfire rolled her eyes, tugging the shirt over her head and slipping her other leg into the jeans. She paused at the door, pressing her fingers to her lips and then to a picture of her parents.
"Love ya..." she whispered before zipping out the door. A quick glance down both sides of the street revealed the coast was clear. In a heartbeat she let her wings free and took off like a rocket, gritting her teeth against the wind. If she was quick enough she could get to the steps and in the door without anyone important seeing her.
The Start of Cheerilee's Story
"SOMEBODY HELP ME!" she cried, clutching a young girl close to her and racing down the halls. A figure in the shadows followed close behind, wearing a menacing grin as it drew nearer. Panting heavily she pushed herself to run harder, the girl gasping and shaking in her arms.
"Just hold on...just hold on..." she repeated over and over, a chill running up her spine as the shadow chuckled behind her. She grit her teeth, clutching the girl close and roaring as she spun, smacking the back of her hand hard across the shadows face, her runes glowing dimly.
Her eyes widened as the figure glared at her, the smile growing as it drew closer. She gasped as a gunshot rang out in the hallway, the figure collapsing before her. Turning around slowly she spotted a woman with a rifle, another bullet flying past her and hitting a second figure.
"Are you bitten?" the woman asked.
"W-what?"
"Did they bite you?!" she yelled, gripping her weapon tightly. She shook her head, clutching the girl close.
"N-No, j-just this girl. Please..." she begged. The woman walked over to her slowly, letting out a sigh as she looked over the child.
"If we hurry we can still save her. Stay close to me and don't make any sudden movements." the woman ordered.
"What are these things?" she blurted out. The woman glanced over her shoulder and smiled.
"You wouldn't believe me if I told you. Oh, I'm Jade by the way, but if you tell anyone you saw me I'll kill you." she warned.
"C-Cheerilee..." she mumbled her reply.
"Well Cheerilee, keep up and stay alive." Jade smirked, eyes glowing as she dove into the darkness that was consuming the school. Cheerilee chewed her lip, chasing after the rifle toting woman and doing her best to stay close, gasping as Jade suddenly fired into the darkness, never missing a step as she spun and drew a knife from her belt, slashing through another shadow before landing silently and continuing down the hall.
What is this woman? Is she even human? Cheerilee wondered.
See?! I AM working on it!
This. I like.
