My wife had some interesting speculations about how Discord might either turn or be used against Equestria again. One point she made is that he might have a destiny linked with bringing chaos to the world and he might not be able to control that. She's never read or even heard of Alara's No Escape From Yourself, either.
I see it as Discord's nature to create unpredictable complexity, and what finally reconciles him with Ponykind in the Shadow Wars Story Verse is that he and the Alicorn Gaia, Fluttershy's final Pony form, can combine their powers to terraform lifeless worlds and bring life to them. The resultant ecosystems are far more complex and chaotic than the same volume of dead matter, and this is actually good for the expanding Pony civilization.
I was inspired in this by Alara's Light Rain, in which Discord is doing something similar on a much smaller scale. It makes sense: Life is where Law and Chaos meet to produce intractable complexity in cooperation, and so this is something the Law of Life and the Chaos of Dissonance could do together, which would fulfill both their natures and make them both happy, together.
Oh, and when you go to Prague -- don't take any wooden golems.
