    2022 recap

I’m uncertain of how to feel about this year. 2018 was the worst year of my life at the time which every following year being part of a downward spiral. And I recall 2021 being so miserable for me towards the end that I rarely left the house without a full flask on my person.

    Exploring more options

In an attempt to provide more options for my readers who wish to support me, I have I have created a Subscribestar account. I understand that some may have become more wary of platforms like Patreon in recent months, and while I would prefer being supported through Patreon since if gives me a little more control on how my payouts work, Subscribestar

    Words fail me

I got a text from my mother today shortly after my shift started. Was told my father was slipping and would not be with us much longer. This was unexpected, yet not surprising. I had received a similar message a month ago.

    Starting at the bottom

I suppose everyone reaches a point in their life where everything seems to peak before consistently and persistently trailing downward in a spiral that never ends. For me, that spiral started in mid 2018 and has never let up. And anyone who has kept up knows what the highlights of that descent has been.

Tournament update · 5:48am Sep 14th, 2015

Several months back, I signed up for a fundraiser/competition event called the Tournament of Canterlot and entered The Lost Element as the story that would be competing and drawing in donations. But now, nearly 9 months later, my sponser page has racked up a very disheartening $0. The total donations for the competition have barely surpassed a measly 2% of the target amount.

I understand that donations are always optional, but as this is a fundraiser for a serious problem as well as a competition, I will be providing links to the group and my sponsor page at the start of every new chapter I put up, just as a reminder in case people keep missing it under the story's description, until right at the end of the year when it comes to an end. Only three months left to pitch in, people.

Furthermore, after a very disappointing lack of response to the opening of my Patreon page, I will be doing the same with it in the hopes of generating more traffic. I know there's no way to do this without looking pretentious or desperate, but without spreading the word about it, there's no point in having a Patreon account. I really am trying to make something of my work. To everyone who pitch in for either side, I appreciate it.

I think - and this is going to come off as a quip - a lot of people on Fimfiction are broke or too young to have money.

i may or may not have 0$ in my pocket right now... Sorry D:

Extremely too broke to give money to anything or anyone for any reason. Gotta keep the lights on. Wife might have words with me otherwise.

Well, I just saw about your Patreon yesterday, not to excuse myself from not donating and not like I wouldn't support your work, even if I do still have to get caught up on several chapters worth of the story (mostly the Mortal Chaos arc, but a few others here and there that I didn't officially read/mark off, but I should re-read it from the beginning). Though I have my own worries as is, not to say I can't donate some money towards your works now or in the near future perhaps (I have a fair amount of money, but due to personal circumstances, I can't do it without someone else finding out about it :twilightangry2:). And even if I know it's for a good cause, the ToC donation thing does seem like a risk. As it seems like any money donated by fans of one of those stories will not necessarily go back to the author (or authors, if more than one) they did it for, just saying.

And speaking of the story, I do hope you release a new chapter in the near future, so we can see how far along you skip to next, with Fluttershy's pregnancy and the next noteworthy event about James' time in Equestria. I imagine next will be involving the next Nightmare Night festival, if memory serves of the time elapsed (that I know of, anyways) since his first year in Equestria anniversary passed, which'd be Nightmare Moon and Mitta's first ones (and Ruby too, I imagine, if she's still around and I didn't miss that she moved on in skipping some parts here and there). If that wasn't skipped over, that is. :unsuresweetie:

3392893 I may have the next chapter up today if all goes well.

Awesome! I do hope so, even if I had said I'm not caught up still as when I replied to your concern over myself from a while back. But I know it's been weeks since that last chapter was finished, even if your chapters do tend to be lengthy usually (some exceptions to those, but usually at least 10k words with the exception of five chapters so far) and you've probably been taking a break after the overwhelming seriousness of the latest arc. Well, I hope you can get it done soon, if not today!

3391924 Same as what cold spike had stated, alot of people on fim simply are either to young, or do not have the financial stability to keep up with donations per month, prime example would be myself, I'm currently putting myself through college and my money is going straight to that and gas for the 20 mile round trip everyday, in the event i ever win the lottery il send you a couple thousand though
