Doctor Perseus Reviews: Doctor Who Series 9 Prologue · 6:29pm Sep 11th, 2015
This is going to be very short given that the prologue is only a little under two minutes long but there's certainly a lot to talk about. It's nice to get surprises like this because, as far as I know, this prologue was completely unknown until now. There is another prologue titled The Doctor's Meditation which is set to be released next week but we were completely in the dark about the existence of this one.
It was cool seeing the Doctor back on Karn and talking to Ohila, both of which we haven't seen since The Night of the Doctor. I really liked the banter between the Doctor and Ohila. It really feels like they've known each other for a long time. My favorite bit had to be:
Ohila: Why do you always lie?
Doctor: Why do you always assume I'm lying?
Ohila: It saves time.
One particular detail brought up is a "creature" who has sent his minions for the Doctor and who the Doctor has apparently put off visiting. Could this potentially be a follow-up to the enigmatic "Gus" from Mummy on the Orient Express? We also see the Doctor give Ohila his will, which was seen in the promo for The Magician's Apprentice.
Based on what we see in the promo, the will ultimately ends up in Missy's possession. Whether Ohila gave it to her or Missy stole it is still unknown.
Overall, this was a very good prologue that has only hyped me up even more for The Magician's Apprentice and Series 9 overall. Only eight days left!
What did the rest of you think about this Series 9 prologue? Did you like it? Dislike it? As always, I'm interested to hear your thoughts.
I don't think it changes much about how much I am really looking forward to Series 9 of Doctor Who. Still, I want to see what this leads to and such.
