A Dream of Sunny Days is one year old · 5:53pm Sep 7th, 2015
A Dream of Sunny Days turns one year old today. More precisely, it's been exactly a year since I started writing the prologue, just to see how it would go. Within a week, I had a plan for the entire story and had already began writing chapter one. It all went by so fast, it feels like yesterday.
Writing was something I dreamed about for a few years, and it sometimes still feels unreal that I'm actually doing this. It's hard for me to express what this story means to me, and how much I love the kind of support I got from you guys. A big reason I managed to keep this going for an entire year is all the encouraging comments I got on the story. Reading you guys argue over who who did what is the greatest reward I can hope for.
For those of you who follow me because of my shorts, I encourage you to give Sunny Days a shot. It is a bit of a long read, but it's the project that received the most attention. It's where I put all my heart and soul.
So yeah, in a year, I wrote 190 000 words, not counting discarded materials and other projects. This is a total of 18 chapters, 19 if we count the prologue. I have 103 093 words published, and I have to thank my proofreaders Galrion, Striving for Harmony, and Coldsilverd for getting through all of them. I should also thank Derpypaws, my editor, who found all the typos and grammar mistakes in all of this text.
By my estimate, I'm about halfway done with the writing. I definitely found a more comfortable pace than when I first started, so I expect it'll take less than a year to write everything, at least in first draft form. Either way, I just wanted to take a little moment to celebrate one year of working on this amazing project. If I made it this far, I can make it to the end!

Halfway done? Yes, then I've commented on half the chapters.

Well, halfway done as far as first drafts go. There's a lot that hasn't been published yet.

I know that feeling, especially since I'm waiting on my editor to finish editing the newest chapters.

Haha, isn't it how it always goes? I've been on a roll lately, averaging 2000+ words a day. I have two proofreaders alternating chapters, and I'm still getting them done too fast. I figured I'll just try to get the entire thing written within the next few months, and I can take my time reviewing and fixing stuff after.
Adding Coldsilverd as a proofreader really helped speed things up though. I'm hoping to have the next 3 or 4 chapters out fairly quickly.
