Conquering the [Dark] tag

I know. I should write comedies. My computer is littered with half-finished comedy stories, and yet...

I have already bent [Comedy] to my will, but not [Dark]. Not in English, anyway. It's a challenge I couldn't refuse!

So, I was reading the FimFic FAQ the other day, and saw that it catalogued the [Random] tag as a subgroup of [Comedy]. This would not stand, I thought to myself, not as long as I had something to say about it!

I know exactly what I want. I want to write a [Random], [Dark] fic. I don't want to write a horror story. I don't want to write a grimdark story. I don't even want to write a scary story. What I want is to write an unsettling story.

I've already started it. It's going to be very, very short (around 2k words or so). I'm sorry, I don't have a lot free time nowadays, and, under ideal(!) circumstances, I takes me at least three hours to write a thousand words. So, about the story, its title is currently The day Twilight Sparkle turned into a Diamond Dog (you can probably guess what it'll be about).

Thing is, it doesn't seem to work out as planned. It's just... it's not unsettling enough. It lacks power, I think. Lacks the punch. I'll ask for a prereader's opinion when I'll be done, but meh. I don't know yet who will I ask to preread, but I don't envy him/her.

Also, if you've always dreamed of drawing me a cover image, now is the chance! I would be grateful for it, though I don't actually expect anybody to doodle me anything, to be honest. It seems I have to find a screenshot again or something.

1) Daring Do and the Shiny Crystal surpassed two thousand views! Thanks for everyone for their attention! (Well, technically it's only 1996, but I won't make a new blog post after the next 4 views. Let's just presume that there were at least four people who read it without having a FimFic account.)

2) Judging by the amount of thumb ups, however, it seems Evenfall is more popular. People prefer fics with actual meanings over crazy awesome comedies? Impossibru! Not that I'm displeased, mind you. And Evenfall surpassed one thousand views, so... yay?

3) Everybody, sing it with me! A PICTURE PERFECT PONY! A PICTURE PERFECT PONY PONY PONY PONY!!!

4) It's not even pony related, but we (Hungary, I mean) just scored our second gold medal at the olympics! After Szilágyi Áron's victory in Men's Individual Saber, Gyurta Dániel won Men's 200m Breaststroke – with a world record to boot! Fluttershy, do you have something to tell our victors?

Fluttershy: You rock! Woo-hoo!

Thank you, Fluttershy! Yes, I'm pretty proud, even though I'm a fat bastard who sits behind his computer all day and couldn't even run to the bus stop without angry dogs chasing him!
