Would someone PLEASE remind the writers...?

So, new season. It has it strong points, it has its weak points, like everything in this world. I'm not going to write a lengthy review now, just let me ask something:

Would someone PLEASE remind the writers that Rarity is supposed to be, y'know, generous?!

Truly, the Element of Generosity at its best

I was just arguing with someone about Rarity's generosity the other day. Now how am I supposed to defend her? The show is practically trolling me.

No, seriously, everypony's getting a ton of character development, except Rarity. In fact, it almost seems like she's getting bitchier and bitchier as time goes on. Writers, I know that it's cool to have character flaws and all, but could you please, if not develop her character, but at least keep her already established virtues? Thank you!

I just assume that since she loves the finer things so much she is generous, but only when the other individual really needs something. Spike doesn't need more jems so she's stingy. She'd give up a tom sized diamond if he actually needed it in any way.
