I suppose it was bound to happen eventually. Several times I have thought about writing Blueblood. Each time, I've tossed the idea aside. I just couldn't do it. But I've been tossing various characters at the wall, seeing what might stick, and I think I have a somewhat decent idea that could be made better with careful execution. (Executing Blueblood wahay!)

No! Blueblood doesn't deserve this! ...Maybe.

For a character with one appearance in the show and two background appearances he sure has a lot that was written about him, and not as just a flat antagonist either.

As far as I'm concerned, he's Best Fanfiction Pony. Not a lot is canon about him, allowing for a broad range of interpretations, but the situation he's in starts at interesting, and begs a ton of questions. Why is he a royal we never see doing anything? Why was his impromptu date with Rarity so bad? Is he exactly the egotistical jerk he seems? Is there more? Is there a good reason? Are there only bad reasons?

I've actually seen a couple of variations with blue blood. My favorite was in the story "How many friends have you made today." In that story blue blood was mentally handicapped but altogether a sweet excitable stallion in private who played with the animals in the garden. I think blue blood roles with hidden depth are better than the easy "evil noble" blueblood.
