So friends... have you tried MFD? · 12:03am Jul 28th, 2015
For those that don't know, M.F.D. stands for Manehatten Fire Department. I've had a few messages about it.
Holly is a fun, happy go lucky, charismatic, engaging character that is fun to write and I think you folks might like her if you gave her a chance. There is a new chapter up released just a little while ago, and for those of you who haven't read it yet, I'd say give it a try.
It is quite unlike my other works. The research that it takes to write it makes it a little slow to write, but along with Luna's Lacunae and The Weed, it is a story that brings me joy to write. Holly is just such a lighthearted and fun character to develop. Also, I get to play with earth pony tropes and have fun with them, running wild, all while learning about the kayfabe world of roller derby.
Thrills, chills, and even a villain await in future chapters of M.F.D. I have the beginning and the end all planned out, but the middle is still wide open.
I admit to being a little skeptical when I saw the subject matter. I was a volunteer firefighter for eight years (1988-1996) and, having seen the Hollywood treatment of firefighting, I was hoping this would be different. I have not been disappointed yet. I think you're doing an excellent job on this story and I'm looking forward to seeing how it all plays out.
not yet, planing n it
I'll admit I was a little hesitant to start this one, but when I did I'm loving every minute and looking forward to each chapter.

Which is why before I even started writing, I thought about all of the ways I could distance myself from Hollywoodesque tropes.
Holly went through a few different incarnations, including a florist with a flower cutie mark that was sick of (and allergic to) flowers.
And then, on a whim, I decided to go with the most wacky and offbeat thing I could think of. A former roller derby star.
She's going to treat the fire like its a bad heel.

The power of research!
Uncle would be proud.
I love it, personally. Some may think Holly is just OP OC #37, but I think she's really fleshed out and well done, as well as how you've done Manehatten. It's an amazing read, and I'm always glad when a new chapter pops up.
Been there, doodled that.
It's been a good story so far.
I've certainly been enjoying it. Took me until the second chapter to really get into it, but I'm hooked
Honestly? I don't think I've read a fic of yours that I don't like. Something about your style, its simple, but the ideas are complex and the humor excellent. Loving MFD, loving The Chase, still need to read The Catch, love your work. Period.
