Hmmm... Muse. · 3:14am Jul 6th, 2015
I'm wondering...
If I should use Megumi seriously in one of my stories. If only to show up to provide sage wisdom of the ages, or to have Tea with Celestia some time. I dunno... But I have a badass warrior goddess here with nothing to throw her in short of cameos. She needs more cameos. Or a serious recurring part.
I have a snippet with her buried in my scrap box.

And yes, I'm playing 'Immortal' from Two Steps From Hell at full blast while I type this. It may be affecting my judgement.
I must be missing something because I don't have a clue what any of that meant.
I remember that snippet you wrote way back when. I loved it, and would be interested to see what else concerning that character has been floating around your cerebrum.
Just read that snippet, and woah. Are there any more details about her somewhere?

I developed a character bio once upon a time, but I'm not sure if it's buried in this or an old hard drive somewhere.
Of course, as I point out in the snippet, she's a character built on a much higher power scale. But I like to think about her personality from time to time. Kind of sweet and seemingly distant to the point of almost seeming like an airhead... Until she has to do her job. Then she's frickin' scary. And her job is essentially suppressing potential cosmic threats and peace keeping between rogue political entities on the interplanetary scale.
Even before firing off a True Gate of Ra, she easily makes entire battalions of futuristic military armored cavalry soil themselves, and even powerful battlefleets are cautious of the prospect of engaging her in battle. Her spear alone is capital ship grade firepower.
But that's what's fun about her as a character. She's pretty much the most powerful, well-trained walking continent buster in the galaxy, but a complete sweetie who wouldn't lift a finger to hurt the Diamond Dogs who kidnapped Rarity because the poor things just want a few more gems. (At which point, she smiles pleasantly at said dogs, who are terrified of her mere presence and the sensation of raw, unimaginable power she emits.)
Scariest part for hilarity's sake is that her power doesn't 'show up' to the senses so you can't really sense or track her. But the moment she walks into view... something is just... 'There's a lot of power there, I can, yet cannot feel it'.
It's a recipe of contrasts.
I'd be up for seeing her in a full story, though I don't think she'd be a good fit for the ones you're currently
supposed to beworking on. The bio would be interesting too, if you ever find it or choose to rewrite it.The only way TSFH music can be deemed to affect one's judgement is by staving off any lack of awesomeness one might otherwise succumb to. Certainly a vital task, but unfortunately "affecting [one's] judgement" tends to have negative implications, which are obviously not even remotely applicable here.

Well, if I were to write a full on fic here where Megumi would be a main character, it would be a plot based around Celestia calling in an old Favor for Megumi to come and teach her prized student how to apply magic properly in combat. Twilight's battle with Tirek OTL was a reckless slugfest that, as you saw with the Megumi snippet, could have been unbelievably one-sided.
It would be hilariously painful experience for Twilight. Combat goddesses like to instruct via practical means.

Ok, that definitely sounds promising. How in the world(s) did Celestia get a favor to call on in the first place...?

That's for Celestia to know, and for us to guess at. [Translation: Fuck if I know. I'm not thinking too deeply about it.]
Oh! For a moment I thought you meant using someone else's Megumi. Guess it's a more common name than I thought? Somehow?

Whatever you do, she would need more than a cameo for her first appearance. She'd need a proper introduction. I'm kind of surprised that 'Pony has tea with X' is an overdone concept (or at least title) now.
