King of Queens is still alive!
Really it is!
And I have PROOF!
See the number of words?
It's not that I don't have anything written or nothing's getting done I swear. As you can see I actually have quite a bit. However life, plot holes I'm just now picking up on, my own insecurities as an author and admittedly my own laziness have caused it to become really backed up.
"BUT CHONICLER!" You cry. "WHY NOT JUST RELEASE WHAT YOU HAVE?!" Well sadly that's my own fault. See I have a unique style of writing which honestly causes me lots of problems and slows me down significantly but I feel is often the only way to get my work to come out at the quality I like. And by that I mean I don't write in a straight line.
For instance: The next chapter is clearly the big battle for the crystal empire so the first thing I wrote was the thing that was clearest in my mind which of course was the big fight scene that takes place during it. After that I went and wrote the next thing that was clearest to me and that was the confrontation with Rade and a new big hitter. Then some flashbacks. So on and so on. Once I have all the major things written, I pull everything together by adding in the smaller details that bind up the story.
The problem with this method? Plot holes. Plot holes galore. I have to be very meticulous and match up the details of what happens in between each scene and that can be very time consuming. It doesn't help that it's ended up being much MUCH longer than I EVER planned or anticipated. So yes, although I have over 20,000 words written, I don't actually have anything concrete to post, which is the main thing that's taking so long.
And that's not all. There's at least ANOTHER 20,000 words of material that's kind of broken just sitting around waiting for me to plug the scenes in. And all of this together is causing more than a few errors in the story.
Taking all of this into account I AM reaching a reasonable stopping point that I can update on so it IS going to happen... it will probably just be a while.
So until then, enjoy this GIF of Sasuke Uchiha and Roronoa Zoro ballet dancing. Oh... and I guess a small preview of the story from the picture too.
I'm glad this is still alive. I was starting to lose faith that this was a cancelled story or you got bored with it. But now those thoughts are quenched and I'm ecstatic to know you're still writing. Keep up the good work with the story best of luck to with those pesky plot holes.
I don't care if it take 6 more months as long as I know it is not dead, i can wait without screaming "Moar" everyday, just give us a day or so heads up so I can reread the story to get back in the mindset.
I will wait patiently for the next chapter, you just do your thing my oh so good author.
It's has now been a year since this was posted....doc....call the time.
