I like writing ponies. And violent explosions. For some reason, that's not a problem here.

On Criticisms for "Setting Things Right" · 3:07am Jun 19th, 2015

Hello my lovely followers! How are we today? Seriously, I'm curious how and what y'all are doing, go ahead and comment on that.

Of course, you all know I'm not here just for some fluffy, get to know ya junk. I have some things I want to talk about. Most of all, of course, on what has become my most controversial entry: "TCB: STR." Before anyone asks, yes, there is an endgame planned out. Like most authors, I do have a way I want to end it, and it is discovering the path there which has proven to be the true journey. Of course, every journey has its twists and false turns, which leads to some moves that some of my readers must disagree with. You all know what I'm talking about here, Shining Armor and his segments. What some of you may not know is that this is an already-edited version of what was once there, this has already been changed. It is also a necessary bit of narrative which is necessary to setup the Endgame I had in mind, at least in a cohesive manner that wouldn't require me to pull out some utterly impossible deus ex machina to pull off what I want to do here. So, what I am trying to say here is that this is part of the author's vision for the story I want to tell, and I'm just asking for a little bit of trust from my readers here. I'm sorry, but you all don't have the full picture here, and while critiques will always be welcome, there are some aspects of the plot that I simply will not budge on.

I'm aware this may not be "good enough" for some, that some might wish for more change. In that case, I would like to remind that vocal minority in my audience that this is my story, not there's and I will tell the story I wish to tell. If that isn't good enough for you, then I thank you for your time, but please leave quietly and with dignity. Don't try and start a flame war with me or insult my skills or claim that by not listening to the comments more I'm stunting myself or disregarding the fandom or whatever. The fact of the matter is, if I listened to every change demanded/requested of my readers (some of which are actually contradictory and therefore impossible to execute at the same time), I would be left with a lobotomized mess of a story that wouldn't sync with the story I had in mind at all, and which in all honesty, wouldn't be worth writing. Not to me, at least. So thank you for the advice, but if what I've just proposed isn't enough, then please don't spam me with hate. That's just going to ignite a flame war which ultimately might end with blocking you. I've only had to block two users in my entire fimfiction career, don't make yourselves number three.

Have some dignity and respect for what I do, that's all I ask. And for everybody else reading and enjoying what they're seeing, thank you so much for your time, and thank you to everyone who has taken the time and energy to read and honestly critique what they're reading, and not just complain about something they didn't like just because it's not the exact way they thought things were going to go in their mind. Thank you all for your time, I'm sorry for not updating as often as I have in the past (I play the "work is cray" card in defense mode!) and I hope that in the end, we look back together and find an experience that we all believe was worth the time and memory.

Thank you.

I really like how this story isn't a Xlesita stompfic. It is all a case of mistaken identity, and there is a possible resolution that isn't HUMANS STRONK, PONIES WEAK!!!

I'm doing pretty good. A little scared but pretty good. I'm graduating tomorrow, which is exciting, but it means that in very short order I'll be facing student loans and a whole new job market. Yay?

I understand the frustration you're going through, and I hope my frustration with Celestia's decisions aren't taken too close to heart. I know it's not my story so I can't just dictate how things play out. With this blog you're doing exactly what you need to though; a directed call for trust that you know of the perceived issue and are keeping it in mind for your plot progression. That's really the best thing.

3161733 Thank you! Also, with the job market thing, without knowing your major all I can say is keep your head up and plan ahead. You're not going to be working within a week even if you do get an interview, but a college degree does help :)

Since the end game seems to be shaping up to be "Let us both hate Xenolestia together," I can get behind it.

*Applauds*
Wonderfully put Kildeez, glad to see you're not bowing to the haters, keep up the good work.

Wait, people expecting you to make changes they want to see in your story is a thing?
