Fannon confirmed for cannon for the most part. Definitely my new favorite episode.

They out kaizo'd you, Skirts.

Well, I say!

Turning off my critical and skeptic thoughts and just enjoying a true fanservice episode was kinda fun. Some parts definitely worked better than others, but I enjoyed myself. I look forward to Dr Whooves fanfiction introducing science into Equestria instead of human involvement or a huge timeskip for once.

>that entire episode

Bugbears.

Why did it have to be, Bugbears.

Im glad this episode had all the adverts. I needed them to recover my eyesight from the tears of laughter. :pinkiecrazy:

The Doc, the Brown, the Centuaries, and Dat Scarf. All he needed to complete the set up, was a potato. :trollestia:

Anyone else spot Twilicane?

Oh, and poor Buggy forgot his Daring Doo book.

Im just gonna be over here rocking out. If I can find Tom that it.

Rarity:We agreed Never to speak that name ever again. :duck:

Wait ... the Changeling was getting into Daring Do? That nails it -- it's Sky.

Wow. Pandering is an understatement. It works, though, for me anyway. (Okay, I could have done without that wild Vinyl/Octavia/etc ride through town—way too slapstick.)

Interesting that even though Derpy speaks once more—and still voiced by Tabitha—they couldn't use that name in the credits. They didn't use Ditzy either. Tabitha is credited with voicing "Muffins" in addition to her other characters. Is that her official name now? Will The Last Roundup be dubbed once again?

Sorry for the confusion. I meant to suggest that he shouldve had a book, when he was just sat there. Theres going to have to be an awful lot of very high resolution frame analysis of that episode. It was truely worthy of Mel Brooks or Leslie Nielson.

this episode was the London 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremonies of the series. :moustache:

I loved this episode. It was great to see all the development of our favorite "background" characters. And it even gave me some ideas for some sculpts (I just ordered some small plasma spheres). :pinkiehappy::derpyderp2:

The part that confused me the most was...

Well, Luna and Celestia.

Not the bickering, which was beautiful.

No, them looking at each other and holding hooves when they were talking about never giving up on your love.

I'm pretty sure that wasn't what Hasbro was going for but...

Seriously?

You go to all that trouble deliberately making Lyra and Bon Bon say BEST FRIEND over and over again, just to make sure that no one might get the wrong idea about them being lesbians, and then you have Luna and Celestia hold hooves? At that moment?

Ah, well. It is a time-honored tradition for everyone asking for lesbians to be rewarded with couples old enough to be your grandma.

There's a comic series somewhere where a changeling is reading Daring Do and completely ignoring the invasion of Canterlot behind him.

I don't think that Celestia and Luna are in an incestuous lesbian relationship, and they are old enough to be everypony's many-many-many-times grandmothers.

3145075

I didn't think that was too strange. IRL I know of a few pairs of sisters who are really close (as sisters) who sometimes hold hands.

3145075

I think that turned the opposite objective (if intended). The looks that Lyra and Bon Bon exchanged were not of "friends". To me it seemed exactly like a lesbian couple who do not publicly admit that they are more than friends (or a company like Hasbro would not dare to openly say that two of his characters are lesbians).

:rainbowderp:

I want to get off Mr. Larson's Wild Ride.

Man, that episode. I don't recall ever laughing so hard.

3144985 "Muffins" has always been one of Derpy's many merch names. She's been Bright Eyes, Ditzy/Derpy Doo/Hooves, and Muffins.

3145075

Woah there, filly. I think you're overanalyzing their hoof holding a tiny bit too much there.

3144853

LyraBon confirmed(?). Bonnie is actually a spy confirmed.

Anything else I'm missing?

3144856
'Nuff said right there.

That was absolutely crazy. Glad I held off watching any of the teasers this time around. Hoooleeeyyycrap. I was thrown for a loop with the Spy-Bon thing, but I absolutely lost my shit with the Twi-cane/Gummy thing.:rainbowlaugh: 10/10 would watch again.

I was very surprised to find my favorite part of the episode was Bon Bond and Lyra, with the Gummy Monologues being a close second. Gummy really pulled the whole episode together, man.

3145280 Definatley the second one, they seemed to be trying to hint away from the first one though.

3145802

Eh, it's the closest we'll get to lesbian horses without encouraging the wrath of a million soccer moms.

inb4 Derpygate 2.0

Bon Bond.

I legitimately lost my shit during the Gummy part. It's like... where the hell did that come from? And the thing with Bon Bon being a spy is probably one of the best things the show has given us fanfic people in a long time. I'll be sorely disappointed if authors don't take advantage of it.

This episode was glorious. Fun, funny, and over-the-top in the best way imaginable.

3145075

Yeah, overanalyzing, disagreeing with you, insinuating you're crazy or a pervert, yeah.

(Psst. Totally fucking agree that's what it looked like, in context.)

3145263 Yeah, all I got was "sisters (still recovering after a long separation)", myself. The nickering was beautiful, though.

3145244 Held hands with my mum at her mum's (i.e. my grandmum's) funeral. Can confirm no incest.

You don't have to turn off the critical side of your brain. A lot of people love the 100th episode for the large amounts of fan pandering. A portion of people think this episode sucks because of the fan pandering. There doesn’t seem to be much recognition that this episode actually has a point, unlike Double Rainboom, which threw a huge amount of references with a ‘morale’ tacked on at the end.

If someone were to view this episode in an internet culture-free vacuum, like a young child, or someone a decade after FiM’s finale, there actually is a lesson it’s trying to teach. Everyone is a star in their own series. Even though the issues people face aren’t objectively equal, every person you pass on the street is currently working towards the most pressing thing in their life. Life as we know it is flitting in and out of the timelines of OTHER people. When we come together in a social event, it’s all of us simultaneously existing in each other.

Believe me, they know what they’re doing.

Please write a Gummy monologue fic in the same way he was talking in the episode.

You're the only one who can do it!:raritydespair:
