Bernie Sanders, the Democrat Senator from Vermont, is running as a Democrat for president in 2016. 
He's recently come under fire for an article he wrote more than four decades ago in which he said women fantasized about being gang raped.
On “Meet the Press” Sunday, Sanders compared his old essay to Fifty Shades of Grey.
“This is a piece of fiction that I wrote in 1972, I think,” Sanders said. “That was 43 years ago. It was very poorly written and if you read it, what it was dealing with was gender stereotypes, why some men like to oppress women, why other women like to be submissive, you know, something like ‘Fifty Shades of Grey.’”
While I may not agree with Sanders politically, I won't condemn him for what he wrote. I've talked about how studies show that rape fantasy has been one of the most popular fetishes amongst women during the last 40 years.
You never know what things from your past will come back to haunt you.
Rather than wait and see what the future holds, I'd like to go ahead and announce my candidacy. I hope I can count on everyone to vote for Bronystories, author of 120 Days of Blueblood, in the 2052 presidential election.

I honestly don't care if that happened 40 years ago. Unlike murder, that article is outdated and Sanders now is probably isn't the same man he was back then.
Actually Bernie Sanders is technically an independent, but he does plan to run as a Democrat. With that out of the way I shook my head when I heard the news not because of what Bernie Sanders said but simply because I knew that this was yet another thing taken out of context to smear a non "mainstream" candidate. I am more of libertarian so there are a lot of things I disagree with Bernie Sanders but do respect him because he has the guts to stand up for what he believes in.
One its face the whole "women love to be raped" thing sounds messed up but leave it to the mainstream media to sensationalize things and only report half the truth. I will admit when I first saw how common rape fetishes were among women I was quite surprised. I have heard though that for many women it is because of the surrender of control that turns them on, the idea that they can lie back and enjoy themselves without judgement because they are being "raped".
I myself have some fantasies both about controlling others (I lean a bit more toward dom) but have a few subby fantasies about surrendering control as well so when it was explained that way it started to make sense to me. Of course we know here that there is a difference between fantasy and reality though there are some who apparently don't.

I am now a borderline socialist atheist who votes democrat because we have a two party system and I'd rather pick the party that's a mere inch further left. At least they claim to be progressive.
