Patreon + New Story · 6:47pm May 31st, 2015
Okay, I've got two announcements to make of roughly equal importance, so I decided to combine them in one post to keep one from drowning out the other.
The first, as you can probably guess from this post's title, is that I've decided to set up a Patreon account. The circumstances that led up to this are somewhat different from those that led to my brief tip jar experiment last year. I go into far more detail on the Patreon page, but the absurdly short version is that this is less about specific financial issues and more about finding better ways to keep myself motivated. Obviously, I still intend to keep writing, regardless of how this turns out.
Secondly, as you can also probably guess from the post's title, is that I've begun work on a new story. As for what it's about, well... remember when I said that Pandelirium would be the last story in the Petriculture Cycle?
That was before Page Turner pitched the idea of a Petriverse-version of Equestria Girls to me.
Basically, he suggested sending Pinkie and Penny to find the Element of Magic, rather than Twilight Sparkle. There are solid reasons for this, but I am loathe to explain them here, in the off chance that someone reading this blog post hasn't read any of the previous stories yet. (If you are one such reader, start here.)
Well, color me intrigued. I look forward to book 6 of 5.
Woooo!! More Petriculture. I can't wait.
"I'm going to stop writing these stories" is the best lie to admit to, tell you what.

OH MY GOD MORE PETRICULTURE!
PLEASE REVIVE THE SERIES FOR A BRAND NEW AUDIENCE, THIS SERIES DOESN'T HAVE ENOUGH LOVE.
I regret putting that in caps but since I can't put it un-caps locked I'll leave it be. I don't want to type that whole thing again. Oh wait, I just typed the equivalent of it. Oops!
On the one hand, I love the idea of Penumbra going to retrieve the Element of magic and finding weird mirror-universe versions of her friend-foes... The potential for personal parallels with Sunset Shimmer along makes it great. On the other hand, I'm not sure about sending Pinkie. There's already one Pinkie over there. And it feels like she might steal the spot-light a little. Still, since all the Petriculture stories turned out very well indeed, I'll give the benefit of the doubt on that.
