There are times on this floating bridge of dream that one takes all the world for a vast practical joke.
Some brew of spiritual fatigue and physical weariness brings a surge of electrical staticness in one's life.
Living day by day, either making one's living to live a little longer, or living one's life not to die this day, what does it all account for?
You can tell by how one lives, what their relationship with death is. Almost everyone wants to live forever--everyone wants a pleasant lie.
Why? Why live at all if one lives to merely live? If one lives merely to survive?
There are countless pleasures in life that are all lies. Life is a vast delusion: a reflection of the moon that one believes must be the real moon contained in a dirty puddle in the street, like a museum piece in the display-case of perception. But who takes the pleasure in the real moon if the real moon is comprehended to be in the puddle?
One makes one's way in life on the deaths of others. But death is rejected from life, therefore each one believes their lives are all their own. No one really wants to die. A society that begins by denying death ends by denying life.
The illusion of control begets merely living life; in the end never having lived. The illusion of control drives one's practical life to live.
Life is connected to other life, and life to death, in an infinite number of strings clouded behind the mask of illusion and lies done to one's self connects every living thing; life for life's sake is no different than art for art's sake: it serves its purpose but denies death and kills life because what it is goes no further than itself.
To live life is merely to be lived; to create is to go a little farther than the end of the world
