The Weed is going to be a bit of an experiment for me, I'll admit. I'll say it right up front, it is not being planned. Well, certain elements are planned, but the story itself is not well thought out. It is more of a 'let's see what Kudzu Haiku can write on a whim' kind of story.
The story will have a few rules.
The main protagonist will never be hideously maimed or suffer crippling injury. Oh, he might suffer the embarrassing full body love of a she-manticore, and many other awful things will happen, and he might get a few boo boos. Maybe even really big boo boos. But he will remain whole of body.
Reader input will be listened to. Over time, as the story develops, if a reader says something that is intriguing, and other readers do the head bobbing thing, the story might go in that direction.
Tarnished Teapot's primary love interest is planned out. The Weed will grow among the Rocks. That's all I'm saying.
The story will never become too dark. If black plot bunnies lurk on the horizon, I will strangle them with piano wire and string their corpses up so that other black plot bunnies might see what will happen if they come calling. That said, a little dark humour never hurt no one. Tarnish will be allowed to have very bleak moments. He's already had one.
Tarnished Teapot will respond to comments in the story comments section if he is asked directly. That means that a question and answer session is ALWAYS live. I might not always get to them right away, but the questions will be answered. When Tarnish's love interest is introduced, she will also be available for Q&A. Other characters may or may not respond. But this story will feature some audience participation.
There should be fairly regular updates... I hope. Some chapters might only be five hundred words, others might be longer. Some will come in the form of journal entries perhaps, and written in the first person. I don't know yet.
So here we go. The basic rules. These may change over time. We shall see.

Embrace the freedom! Lack plans as you thrust yourself forward unto the breach! Do crazy stuff because it sounded good at the time and make up for errors in a subsequent chapter! Whoo!
To be quite honest, this sounds a lot like how I approach my writing. Some structural work to keep things from going too far off track, but otherwise left free to explore the journey you feel drawn to tell, as opposed to trying to follow something already established. This is yet another story I'll be following with interest.

I am liking the Tarnish and Maud pairing, they really complement one another. I also feel that Tarnish needs a bit more family bonding, its feels a bit rushed.
