To no pony in particular: Why is it that earth Ponies farmers of Ponyville are lower income, but a place like the shire isles earth Ponies are the ruling class? It feels like the equality and Harmony brought about by the hearts warming story only served to widen the disparity between the races. Rich earth Ponies were so caught up imitating the unicorns that they failed to protect their simple farmer brothers. While other places used their power and influence to gain dominance over the other Equine races.

The Shire Isles was its own nation, apart from Equestria. It was one of the places that froze over during the Great Winter of Windigos and ponies had to flee from.
Equestria had no right to dictate policy over the Shire Isles and the Shire Isles had no right to dictate policy in Equestria, as they were separate nations. That would be like saying that the English Monarchy has a right to dictate the price of grain in the United States.

This I know, I understand the influences of other cultures have little bering on one another. But the power an agricultural force has on the growth of a nation. In US history the depression era marked the decline of power and influence farmers had in the nation. When banks started buying up bankrupt farms, and the government started regulating price increase to prevent price gouging durring famine.
Farmers have more power than the realize, and it's good to see groups like the earth pony leauge trying to grow that influence.
I guess what I'm trying to get at is: Were the earth pony farmers directly targeted for were the ones in power just taking advantage of the earth pony work ethic and naivete?

In different places, things just worked out differently.
In Equestria, the earth ponies had the back luck of being on the bottom. It's more than that, but oh my goodness that is a lot to type at 11:00 PM.

Lol yeah I understand that, I of the heartwarming based on the propaganda of the heartwarming play when Equestria was founded everyone was equal. we know that's a lot of horse shit because nothing is ever a hundred percent equal. but the food producers should have far more to offer in the beginning where they would have been able to establish themselves. between the farmer the warrior on the bureaucrat the farmer should have had all the power. Then over the years the bureaucrat in the absorbs all that power, but still...

Moonbow: Every day I am fed poisoned food and they increase the dosage just a bit more with each meal. I have learned to sleep standing up. I have begun my year of being blind and I am learning how to identify everything by smell. I can now do a standing double backflip, but not the required triple. I have increased my bite power to the point where I can be violently shaken around by the target dummy and not let go, just hanging on with my teeth and teeth alone.
Also, I have complete the Gauntlet with no serious harm to myself and no harm whatsoever to my Sentinel stuffy.

But they were always considered servants working the lords land. The land was his so the food was technically his. in America the new land farmers were the pioneers. they forged the land into what it is today and many of those people went on to become political figures in there respective regions. Equestria should have played out much like America did. the only reason that it didn't would have been the nobility swindling away that power from the earth Ponies.

See the difference here? There was a lot of Canterlot unicorns, and most of them didn't use their magic much. So they didn't need a lot of food.
The Shire unicorns did a lot of work with their magic. Too much work. Over time, as it was explained in the story, the earth ponies and the pegasi became too dependent on unicorn magic, and sought to make unicorns into household appliances.

ah so even though true harmony between the races was preached it was never truly achieved. Bucky will need to reconcile his hatred of unicorns somehow or else history may repeat itself. having groups dedicated to looking out for the interests of the various races is a good start.
there should be a group unicorns for magic equality.
typically I'm against lobbyists, when they become too big to powerful corruption happens. everyone needs somebody looking out for them.
