It was late, she knew. Cautiously looking around her she was met with the sight of several shady ponies going about their business. A sharp crack from the raging storm outside brought her back to reality, and she looked at the picture lying on the table. Orange fur, violet eyes and a cheesy grin. Another casualty of the dark streets of Manehatten, one she was determined to avenge...
Man, I'm just listening to Blues and this popped into my head. I wouldn't really know how to make a story that wasn't multi-chapter with it though.
Fluttershy, a while after leaving Cloudsdale to live alone on the ground, ventures into Everfree Forest on her own, curious about all the animals in there, riding a wave of self-confidence triggered by gaining her cutie-mark. In the process she confronts the hidden fears of coming of age. Leads her to learn The Stare.
Seriously, three lines? Freakin' impossible.

A cold case detective who can see and talk to dead ponies.
Celestia and Sunset, mother daughter bonding
Rainbow Dash's mind is switched with a pigeon.
Twilight's 'Bird's Eye View' spell is to blame.
Rainbow flies into multiple windows. (Both of them.)

You can take that Idea of mine about Twilight assuming Alicorns are sterile.
One is an overworked, unlucky, by-the-books cop who accepted a new assignment showing an unnamed rookie the ropes of proper policing, in hope of a promotion.

The other one is Chaos Incarnate, who's stuck with community service after a particular incident with Minister Noodles and wants to liven up some assuredly dull activity.

Alternately, Cadance stealthily buys all-expenses paid reservations for the Mane 6 at the Macho Cafe in Canterlot. Twilight realizes Cadance's not-so-subtle gesture too late and is stuck until at least desert. Ship at will.

Make "piano man" by billy Joel but with spike playing piano in a bar instead.
We all know spike plays instruments. Just like when he played piano in over a barrel
A story about someone trying to figure out if fluttershy is technically a doctor or a veterinarian because if she helps animals and ponies are animals then is she a veterinarian or a doctor. Also are all the doctors in that universe also technically veterinarians?
There was a dragon civil war raging for centuries, and the dragon queen laid an egg, who would one day become the king of all dragons. To protect the unhatched (is that even a word) heir to the throne, said egg was shipped to Celestia.
One day, Spike gets a letter saying he has to take care of a kingdom.
And don't forget to add worldbuilding.
Either that, or Equestria's relationship with the dragon's country/lands. Examples of how dragons use magic, maybe.
Celestia and Luna both trying(and failing) to hit on Twilight at the same time
On a particularly boring weekend, Luna takes notice of Celestia and/or Cadance's increasingly dangerous hobbies. Worried, she goes to Twilight Sparkle, and they try to figure out why Celestia and Cadance are constantly risking their well-being. Then the CMC get involved, and worst of all, Celestia and Cadance's antic are giving them ideas...
A young pony travels with his family to a neighboring country. The pony's parents are part of the Equestrian ambassador's staff and will be living in this other, non-pony based, nation for sometime. The young pony has to make new friends, go through culture shock, and try not to attract the wrong sort of attention that might embarrass the young pony's parents, or worse...the ambassador.
Dischord and Tree Hugger try to take care of a sick Fluttershy. Madness insues. Bonus points for Angel shenanigans, double crossings, Fluttershy being Naive and d'aww moments.
Chuck Norris roundhouse kicking that sacred white buffalo who the Native Americans believe is going to usher in a new era of world peace in the head while Batman kills Superman and eats his heart so as to gain Superman's great powers and then flies up into the air to have man sex with Chuck Norris for several hours. Also shipping Chuck Norris with Fluttershy.
Flim and Flam go over to Canterlot to try and become Luna's public relations agent, and succeed amazingly at it, but lie so much about what Luna does that she feels absolutely miserable despite being popular with the citizens.

Anywho, Big Macintosh sits under a tree. Talks about seeing 'yall' everywhere he goes, to the point that he's had to give up running the apple cart in town because he keeps running out into the crowd to accost ponies mistakenly. Wonders what kind of life he can lead when he feels trapped in the past by memories.
Been thinking about writing this for a while, but I don't think I'm ever gonna get around to it. Have at, if you wish
Gilda flies away from Ponyville, cursing RD for betraying their friendship and casting her aside in favor of her new dorks. Emotionally exhausted, she touches down in an apple tree in a familiar orchard to rest and 'borrow' a snack. "Nope!" Thud. Squawk. Hijinks ensue, maybe some GildaxMac, Gilda redemtion, life lessons from a stoic she can't piss off enough for him to leave her alone.
Screwloose's captors make a mistake with her dosage, to the point that she regains enough lucidity to escape the hospital. Now to plan her revenge, first taking out the hospital collaborators and their field commander, Opal. Then it's off to Canterlot to put this cat conspiracy to rest. Hers is the drill that shall pierce the heavens!
Could go either silly or SUPER dark with this one.
Anyway, will we know beforehand if you select one of these prompts? Or will it just be a surprise instead?

Some sort of Super Hero or team of such breaches the reality divide by accident and rages through the ponyville area trying to wrangle their rage based member or foe, but only focus on the ponies and how they handle this, the supers being in the background
Something featuring either a Sand themed powerful old magical force/foe, or desert themed story, with the dunes and all that.

I have no useful specific story suggestions. I wouldn't mind seeing a new romantic story from you, though - you write some of the cutest romances that I've ever read!
The ambassador of the alpaca nation visits Canterlot.
Twilight meets an alpaca for the first time.
Twilight is very impressed by the awesomeness of the alpaca.
Twilight accidentally swaps everypony's speaking voices and patterns, bit not their personalities. So Fluttershy is forced to talk like Pinkie Pie, but is still just as timid as she's always been. Rarity is forced to talk like Rainbow Dash, even when discussing her designs. Applejack suddenly has Twilight's attention to grammatical detail, and corrects people against her will. Pinkie has a lot of fun with a southern drawl, and Twilight suddenly has trouble making herself heard.
Heh. I'm in a similar boat. Lots of stuff going on and I was thinking of asking for story prompts myself.

Write a story about free bird!! ... That sounded funnier in my head honestly. But maybe a story of the PonyTones becoming a heavy metal band or something equally ridiculous. That'd be funny

Write about Discord tricking a pony(Luna/Fluttershy/Celestia) by transforming into a pony(Batstallion #1/TreeHugger/Big Mac) she has an affinity for. He takes this too far of course and becomes her special somepony, even though initially he was just playing a joke. However as he plays out his dastardly plan he discovers he has become lovestruck with this ticked pony and decides to reveal himself. Then have her not accept his apology for deceiving her. Later she decides to forgive him because she changed her mind. Once finding Discord she discovers him showing attentions to somepony else. Later she invites the jerk to lunch for a meeting to give him a piece of her mind. He reveals during the lunch that he was playing a joke with her and what she saw him cheating with was an illusion with the smooze (LOL) or anypony else just to make her jealous. They have a huge food fight that gets them expelled from the cafe, afterwards they reconcile their love.
This was the story I was thinking about writing. I always think about writing stuff but I never execute anything. (Sorry that this was more than three lines, if I keep on going I'll just write the story then let it sit in gdocs forever alone.) It feels like a compact General Hospital episode and I can't stop laughing. GrapeParfait is broken, we'll be right back after a message from our sponsors.
