[12/5/15] The State of the Panda

Hey everyone, sorry for literally no story updates since July.

Uh... that's honestly it. I don't really have an excuse to be perfectly honest. Other than the fact that all my story ideas seem perfectly half baked. Why don't we go through my stories list and see why I haven't updated anything?

Unexplained Hatred - Pretty self explanatory. Began writing this when I was 15, usual self-insert Gary Stu fic, kinda petered out. I have the next chapter halfway worked but I honestly don't know where the plot is going and wonder if I should even continue. Honestly I could half-ass it at this point and it would still seem like the story it was since my writing skills have improved drastically since that story was first published, but it just doesn't seem worth it. It's not that amazing of a story prompt. If you want some spoilers, Adrian was going to make good with Twilight, King SomBRUH would possess Adrian through his connection with his magic interference ring, shitstorm would ensue, Adrian would have to make a decision on whether or not to keep his "fixed" form or revert to what everyone hated him for before [cringe], more shit, more shit, Rainbow Dash joins Sombra, more shit, more shit, Adrian gets with Twilight and they have the sexies... yeah you can see why I stopped.

Gray Day, White Night - Due to lack of interest in this story my own love for it kind of died out. Don't get me wrong, I love the story idea and it was my first story idea that actually made sense in some way, but honestly the lack of views and attachment from the viewers it got (other than that one guy who said it was one of the best he's ever read and couldn't see why it didn't have more views) just... well... got to me. I don't know if I'll finish it or not, but who knows? I do love the idea, and the OC that I introduced could be a lot more fleshed out. Might add her as a supporting character in Jumper or Slander.

Twelve - No one knows about this one, as it was rejected, but I haven't worked on a chapter since a year and a half ago, so that's getting deleted.

Slander - Oh boy, the one and only. I just... can't. I've been writing the next chapter for over a year now, and I just can't justify Rainbow Dash wanting to run away from all this. Honestly, I don't know how I didn't see it when I was first writing it, but Rainbow is the element of Loyalty, and leaving her life behind to assist three fillies doesn't seem very loyal to the Crown. I mean, fuck, I'm trying as hard as I can but I just can't justify any of either Rainbow's actions or Filthy Rich's actions. I'll work some more on it, there's obviously a lot of interest in the story. Oh, and the Slander EP sucks ass. Just thought I'd let you guys know.

Jumper - This is the one story I love. I fucking love this prompt. I love my writing style in it. But I can't finish the second chapter. It seems way too half-baked. I can't introduce the Dream Jumpers to Trance Leap without it sounding conceited. At the current moment in time, I've introduced the character (looks, etc.) of Trance Leap, showed his morning commute through the streets of Canterlot, shown him walk into the EIA and be called over by a receptionist to go meet with Celestia. Celestia interviews him (after some admittedly FUCKING AMAZING description of the scenery, honestly I feel like F. Scott Fitzgerald right now), gets him to sign some paperwork, and has some playful interview banter about what he knows and doesn't know. But I don't know where to go from here. I'm not sure how I'm going to have Celestia introduce him to his new squadron or how the squadron commander is really supposed to act. I'm working hard on it, though. Hopefully there will be an update for all of you soon.

Amanuensis - Another one no one knows about. This is based on the album aptly titled "Amanuensis" by Monuments, and would follow Twilight and her decent into madness due to King Sombra corrupting her mind, thereby taking her body and using it to wreak havoc on the world. Twilight however comes to her senses in the final chapters, gives Sombra a righteous beatdown, sends him back to Tartarus, and returns with wings on her back (basically an alternate universe tale of the Ascension).

FlutterDie Verse - Might not continue this for reasons, even though the two stories I've written in it are my most popular.

Ascension - Another fic no one knows about. It's a new album I have coming out called Ascension, telling the story of how Celestia obtained her designation as Alicorn Princess of the Sun after a long pilgrimage with an OC, an Demangel, and lots of discussions about God.

So yeah. Read through that and make of it what you will. I'm trying here, people.
