If you change the font and size to one you're not used to, it will force you to focus harder as you proofread your work. This will make it more likely for you to spot typos. Neat tip!
I'm doing three panels at whinnycon, so they gave me codes for three free badges. I only need two of them though... anyone want the last one? First person to pledge fealty in the comments to my cat, Ushi, gets the code.
Whinnycon is in five months. And imma do ALL teh panels.
I have ideas for at least three so far.
1. How to fimfic. We'll discuss general things like: - How to breathe life into your characters. - How to identify problems in your own writing, and how to fix or avoid them. - Some common pitfalls for inexperienced writers.
It's not fiction-related. Or pony-related. So honestly, it has no business being on this website. But I'm decently happy with how it turned out, so I'm posting it here anywayzzz
I didn't compose this. I performed and recorded each part, then edited them together. https://clyp.it/jegjgcwd
2980115 I can sing a little bit. I took singing lessons for a couple years in college, joined a show choir, and in my senior year, auditioned for the official college choruses, nailed the audition, and got placed in the top group. That was a fluke though... I was way out of my league there. I often can't get my body to work the way I want it to, so I can sing great sometimes, horribly other times. I'm very familiar with pedagogical techniques though, so when I teach people how to sing, I sound like I really know what I'm talking about... at least, until I try to demonstrate.
P.s. French horn is wayyyy cooler than trumpet.
Gee, you're right! I can think of SOO many great jazz recordings that feature french horns OH WAIT
Let me know if you need any help arranging music or producing piano tracks to sing with. Might be able to record them for you.
That I will definitely do. What style/piano skills do you have? what songs would you be most eager to collab on arranging on? Can you like us on facebook? (shameless self promoting!)
2981552 I took piano lessons from ages 6 to 21. That said, I never practiced as much as I should have, so I'm not especially talented. I was the pianist and combo director for my show choir in college, so I have some experience playing pop. I can play whatever style you want me to play. The only thing I can't do is improvise, but jazz is still fine - I'll just write out a solo ahead of time.
As for arranging preferences, I like broadway and jazz, but I'll try my hand at anything.
For show songs, smile song I guess. Can't ever go wrong with that, and it wouldn't be difficult to arrange any way you wanted it. It's fairly straightforward.
2982048 holy kimchi! That's a cool song way beyond our capabilities! If we do a Ponyphonic song it's going to be "lullaby for a princess".
As of yet I've been arranging our songs to be truly a cappella, but that one might be nice for piano plus four or five voices. if you want to try that you can, as lullaby for a princess is pretty low on my priority list right now. My first priority right now is finishing up Discord, since I got Eurobeat Brony's blessing at BABSCon.
Hello fellow musician! Do you sing too?

You sound like a better pianist than me!
I mean what show, fandom, or parody songs would you be interested in?
2981825 And then two sisters brought us out of Discord's dark caprice, and gave us lights to guide us into harmony and peace!
My favorite fandom song. Might be a little ambitious though.
