I like editing fanfiction, and will happily proofread for anyone who asks! I lived in Japan for four years. So... there's that. Woo

    Self-proofreading tip!

If you change the font and size to one you're not used to, it will force you to focus harder as you proofread your work. This will make it more likely for you to spot typos. Neat tip!

    Free Whinnycon Badge

I'm doing three panels at whinnycon, so they gave me codes for three free badges. I only need two of them though... anyone want the last one? First person to pledge fealty in the comments to my cat, Ushi, gets the code.

    Upcoming Whinnycon panels!

    Hey there, peoples!

Whinnycon is in five months. And imma do ALL teh panels.

I have ideas for at least three so far.

    1. How to fimfic. We'll discuss general things like:
    - How to breathe life into your characters.
    - How to identify problems in your own writing, and how to fix or avoid them.
    - Some common pitfalls for inexperienced writers.

    Ciderfest, woo!

Whew! I just got back from Milwaukee Ciderfest, my very first pony con! What a blast!

Here are some of my highlights:

Watching the premiere of "The Mane Attraction" in a convention hall with a brony horde. Everyone sang along with the intro song!

    I made a thing!

It's not fiction-related. Or pony-related. So honestly, it has no business being on this website. But I'm decently happy with how it turned out, so I'm posting it here anywayzzz

I didn't compose this. I performed and recorded each part, then edited them together.

Upcoming Whinnycon panels! · 7:36am Nov 23rd, 2015

- How to keep yourself motivated as a writer, or dealing with writer's block.
- Pros and cons to gardeners and architects (literary ones, not literal ones).
- How prereaders can help you, and how to get prereaders to help you.

It would be great to have talented authors on the panel with me! If it's a small audience (15 or less) it will be a more or less open (but steered) discussion. If it's a much larger one, I'll lead a fishbowl discussion with just the panelists - similar to the interviews I've done on youtube, but focused on broader issues instead of individual authors. The end of the panel would be open for audience members to ask questions.

2. Flash fic writeoff! I'll give a prompt, or have the audience vote on one of three prompts. Or maybe allow each person can choose one of those three? Anyway. Then everyone has just TEN MINUTES to scribble the best fic they can before breaking into groups of five. Everyone will read everyone else's fics in their small groups and vote on one to advance. The advanced ones get read out loud by me on the microphone. Or maybe by someone famous, like TheLostNarrator or Scribbler? Sky's the limit! I'll buy a plushie or something to give the winner. Having someone familiar with the regular writeoffs present would make us seem a lot more legit. We can mention the writeoffs too, encouraging more people to participate in them!

3. Too many cooks! This one will be just for silly fun. We'll vote on a main character and a problem for that character to face, and everyone in the room will write the fic together! I'll go through the audience with a mic, each person contributing just one sentence to the fic. I won't let it get bogged down - I'll skip anyone who takes longer than five seconds! I'll need someone else to sit at a computer and type out everything that's said. The computer will of course be hooked up to a computer for everyone to read. If we get through everyone in the audience, we can go through a second time - this time only contributing three words per person! We'll see what we end up with after an hour!

Do you want to be one of my panelists? Please let me know! Also, what do you think of my ideas? Do you have any ideas of your own? Let me know in the comments! I'm going to snatch up as much time as I possibly can for these!

Finally, if anyone feels like being incredibly awesome, signal boosts would be amazing, but I understand if you don't want to spam your followers with random links.
