It has been a hot minute (or two) since the last time I posted anything so I can fully understand.
And I believe that last blog post was more or less just me talking about my plans to attend a convention that took place last year. *ooph* But in case you were wondering about that it went very well. I'll have to post the pictures up sometime.
But this post isn't about that (though it could be if you asked nicely) No this post is about a few things that will be happening this week. Some overdue updates are in order, and I very much intend to deliver them as well as some new things that have been bubbling up in my brain meats. I've been away for longer than I intended, and for those of you who've been waiting much longer than you should've I'm deeply sorry.
You've all been supportive, kind, and the kind of crowd that really does inspire me to keep thinking up new fun ideas, and continue with the ones that make me happy. Now while I won't promise that updates will be rapid, or expected dates to be dependable I will promise that I'm gonna keep on trying because of you guys/gals and because I honestly do have a great time doing it.
Shout outs to thewaffler the fanfic writer, truly entertaining dude, and someone I can honestly call a friend. Despite how flighty I can be at times this dude has always been fun to work with, and a great guy to come up with ideas with.
xgfhj is amazing, and honestly without him these fanfics would so rife with bad grammar, and half-baked ideas that I highly doubt they could even be called 'stories' without someone feeling ill. He's been an amazing beta-reader, a very patient guy, and I'm happy to learn from him every time he reads my work.
I also feel that I need to mention The Descendant and all his awesomeness. Why? For being the guy who got kind of got me into all of this business. A few years ago my interest in MLP was merely out of curiosity, and i kept my fanfic writing to other subjects like Ed, Edd, n Eddy, and didn't think I'd find anything of real interest in this fandom. But then I randomly came upon an eye-catching depiction of Twilight Sparkle, and good ol Spike the dragon in full pirate garb. I clicked on it thinking it was just some impressive art, and was surprised to find that it had been a cover to an incredibly engaging story. From there I was seriously hooked, and after some fretting (I was super shy back then) I left a comment. He replied, and continued to every time I dug into one of his fics, and couldn't help but write about how much I enjoyed his work. From reading Descendent's work, and talking to that cool guy I got up the guts to try writing a mlp fic of my own.
And that's where you great readers came in.
For whatever reasons you all seem to enjoy my silly one-shots, and shipping fics that always center around the little pudgy dragon that I favor so much, and for that I believe myself to be a very lucky guy.
There's a long list of really cool readers, and writers who've helped me along with a kind word, and the willingness to help with my projects. You're all awesome, and I appreciate every bit of it.
I've been trying to figure out how to best show my appreciation to you guys, and with my luck a better idea will come to me a moment after I post this. For now I hope that what I have planned will do well enough, and that you didn't find little blog post too melodramatic.
I've been keeping busy this past weekend to have a little something cooked up for FIMFiction this week. So you'll just have to wait and see what happens while I fully embrace the meaning behind my new profile picture.
It really is exciting to be back, and I look forward to what fun we'll all stir up.
