Interviews and Reviews A-Go-Go! · 6:34am Mar 27th, 2015

TL;DR Version

Read this. Follow this guy. Listen to this. Subscribe to her. Put these on.

Why is this happening all at once?

From this point onward, I am officially permitted to pump myself up a bit. It's allowed. You wanna know why I think I'm such a big deal all of a sudden? Oh, I'll tell you why I'm such a big deal. In a Chicago accent. While chopping these vegetables. Because apparently I'm in a Martin Scorsese film.

There's someonebody I'd like to introduce you to.

He is Nekonyancer, and he brings you awesome interviews of some of the best authors on FimFiction dot net. And also DuncanR! That's right: some time ago, he asked me if I would subject myself to public ridicule by rambling incoherently for a couple hours in the immediate vicinity of a microphone and a freshly installed copy of Skype. How could I possibly say no? I've listened to all of his previous reviews (Horizon and Cold in Gardez being of particular interest to me) and it feels weird and creepy to be placed in the same category as such amazing talents. I'm sure it was a clerical error.

You can check out Nekonyancer's FimFiction page right here, and his Youtube channel right here. My interview probably won't be up for a while longer, since it's going to take a ton of editing to make me sound intelligent and insightful, but you should check out all his other works while you wait. Your life will surely be enriched thereby.

While we were talking over Skype, I noticed him noticing that I'd noticed a story of his that he's had in the works for quite some time now. I'd read it many moons ago as both an editor and a pre-reader, and commented that he really ought to get off his lazy butt sometime and post it to FimFiction.

And so he has! You can check out "The Shipper" right here. It's best to go into it with a clean palette, with only the tags to guide you... Is it a crack fic? Is it a horrifying mind-screw? I know one way to find out! I normally dislike spoilers, however minor, but I will risk saying that it contains one of the few genuine "Wait. What? Whoa!" moments I've ever experienced in a work of fiction.

I can remember the fear and apprehension of having to post my very first fic, so I've decided to encourage you all to go over and check it out. Hopefully, the exposure and attention will multiply his fear and apprehension by an order of magnitude. Check out his story here, thumbs up and subscribe, and pester him mercilessly to keep writing. The talent, creativity, and originality are all his, whereas the spelling and grammatical errors are no doubt entirely mine. I was the pre-reader, after all.

We're not done with this blog post yet.

This one came out of nowhere. I don't know why I'm putting this one below the fold, but have you perhaps heard of ObabScribbler? Or possibly just "Scribbler"? Of course you've heard of her! As it turns out, she and her shadowy cabal of sinister conspirators seem to have noticed one of my own little stories, and they judged it worthy enough to warrant a rigorous roundtable discussion. It's out right now, and you can check it out here.

I am, quite frankly, speechless. I've only listened to the first two or three minutes, which was more enough for me to declare the intro music as my official personal Theme Song Of Awesome. I hope they like my story... but I also kind of hope they despise it utterly, because it would be more educational for me. And certainly more entertaining, judging by what she and TheLostNarrator had to say about My Little Dashie.

I know that Scribbler is quite well known for her radio plays and voice acting talent and all sorts of other audio-related shenanigans, so she probably doesn't need a signal boost from little old me... but if you still don't know about her roundtable discussions, then you are a poorer person for it. They're informative, interesting, and entertaining from the perspective of both a writer and a reader. Check them all out here, and mine in particular right here.

Seriously. Somebody tell me where I can find that intro music in MP3 format. Must needs haves.

Looks like your big break has arrived. Congrats! :pinkiehappy:

Only 2 to 3 minutes of the review?? Shame, it gets better further down the line.

You mean you weren't a big deal before this? Oops, should I not have been throwing your works at people then and raving about your skill?:twilightsheepish:

Thanks so much for the signal boost! It really means a lot! :twilightblush:
