I have a revised Pixar theory the theory is that all the characters make movies and they are from the same universe.
In Toy Story 2 there are bloopers during the closing credits where all the characters make mistakes and there is a deleted scene with the caterpillar and ant from a bugs life. This proves that the toys in the Toy Story series are in the same universe and the bugs talk about how they hope to be in Toy Story 3.
This can be expanded with all the easter eggs in the other films being props and actors that make cameos in other movies. and the number A13 can be where the company studied like in real life.
It also fixes the timeline issue as the movies aren't real but the characters are actors.
it's that OR they used the same animation engine which means they could just splice the two films into the same universe, allowing the bloopers
