Flutternice's ability to create detachment is directly linked to her father's side, an ability Draconequi all technically have, but not all are able to actually use (like a pegasi' flight). Discord for instance, is far too egocentric to EVER use this technique, for the same reason he wasn't able to peacefully join with Dissy as Concepts and their mortal personas normally do when they awaken. Fallen Draconequi are far less able to use this ability as a general rule.
It is the Draconequus version of the Alicorn's power to create Avatars.
An important thing about this technique is that while each Detachment has the memories and goals of the whole, they each have their own personality and methods. Each one being a different aspect of the whole (the whole doesn't actually LOSE these traits while they're Detached, since they still share the same soul, similarly, an experienced user can recreate the disconnected body parts with relative ease).
Flutterbat is Flutternice's modesty.
Flutterfly is her grace.
Flutterdragon is her politeness.
And Fluttergriff is her civility.
When 'killed' the Detachment's essence rejoins with the whole or when the whole decides to whenever they choose, even if the Detachment is say, turned to stone.
Unlike the reflections technique used by Nightmare Mirror (and logically therefore Princess Veritas), injury to a Detachment doesn't injure the whole, and as long as the whole has the magic to spare, they can respawn the same Detachment indefinitely.
The Detachments may or may not share senses with the whole, but normally all memories are taken back into the whole once the Detachment rejoins. Because of this, Detachments do not resist returning to the user (not that they could if they wanted to).
However, since they ARE the same soul, emotion and mental stress of the user can filter down into the Detachments as well, lessening their concentration and focus but stress on the Detachment does NOT filter back up to the whole.
This abilities' greatest advantage, is that a killing blow to a Detachment merely becomes a loss of mana and has the bonus of becoming a learning experience.
