Hello everyone. I'm glad to see you are enjoying The Bridesmaids! I am already working on the design document for the sequel, I actually planned this to be a series from the beginning. Additionally writing is my video games (Until a new Elder Scrolls, or space combat sim comes out) so I do it daily.
I have a few ideas, but I would like your feedback on things you might like to see in the next installment. If you haven't read the whole thing feel free to suggest things anyways! If you find this a few days later, feel free to suggest as well.
Right now I have the "back of the box" blurb for you guys, what do you think?
Several months after the Changeling Invasion of Canterlot, and one week after the events of "The Return of Queen Chrysalis", Lyra's fellow conspirators learn something interesting. A high tech device discovered burred under a far off forest sounds as if it could be a human artifact. Howeaver the device was captured by diamond dogs enrout to the Royal Academy of Science. Believing the device to have actually been captured by the organization responsible for repressing the truth of humanity Lyra gets Cole and Meep to try and recover the device, and safely bring it to the RAS for study.
I think you should wait a bit longer, get a bit more feedback, get an editor to have the grammar errors corrected beforehand. Trust me good grammar really facilitates the enjoyment of a story by others.
Also... me sad you take the Events of the comics as canon but oh well!
Question... what is the "Equisverse"?
2759688 Equisverse is the name of my personal AU. I'll change it if that's taken.
As for slowing down, while I start writing now, I wont publish for a month or two. Thus I can make edits all I need to. Additionally the first week is the design documents. Plot outlines, figuring out what is happening int he world, how much of it the audience needs to see, creating the lore behind events and locations, adding locations to my map, etc. The actual story writing will start in a week, week and a half at most. But since some people have finished The Bridesmaids, I posted this to try and crowbar input out of them.
As for the comics... Not all of them. Some are good, some are bad. Some of them fit into the theams I have chosen for my AU, some dont. If you must know what I see as canon, and what source trumps what, here is an excerpt from the Equisverse design document:
2759717 I have not encountered this before. Is this all the info you can provide? Maybe If you made it into a document and added it into the description as a link to the word it would be nice. Just saying. Sounds interesting. Tbh I don't exactly like the comics past a few lore additions they do.
2759719 Really? No one else uses design documents? But they are so useful! They help you stay consistent in tone, theme, and keep character's strait! I plan on releasing a public version of my design documents... But they need edited down. Currently I have over 80 files of mixed media, (largely individual .txt files) which do everything from establish lore, to my calculations which get me the advrege speed of a changeling in flight, to the physics which allows for magic to work (magic = the ability to manipulate quantum objects. It's actually possibly under out laws of physics. Given you can interact with the quantum world.). So a... non-science porn version is needed.
Please understand, I am not some high school student. I have a BA in Humanities, I have taken every creative writing class available across 2 universities. I write pony fic because I like ponies, my SO likes ponies, and we both like old 80's fantasy and scifi novels.
2759755 It would really help me if you taught me how to use and organise said documents.
On the other hand I am just a 23 year old brony that studies computer engineering and before two years ago had absolutely NO knowledge on how to write a story properly. Hell my grammar is still for shit sometimes and I need an editor till i get better. I also do sometimes need help in order to stop making my story ideas sound bland.
